Hit Network

I happened to tune into the evening program of HIT FM tonight, something I would normally avoid.
Briefly listening a segment of the ‘Hot Nights with Abbie Chatfield’ program. I’d lost count at how many times I’d heard the word “like” repeated ad nauseum by Abbie. Nothing grates like the word “like”, like you know, it’s like, she’s like & he’s like… arhhh!
Blah blah bimbo radio.
Listening to city traffic noise would be more stimulating & entertaining.
Far out - how does one listen to this s HIT.
Obviously I’m not in their target demographic… and I might be alone with my thoughts.

It’s an interesting point to consider. May also driven by a personal preference from them to leave Tassie.

I wouldn’t be so sure about that. I watched their announcement on their Facebook page and it looked quite clear to me that all three of them, Grace included, don’t want to leave the slot. They were all extremely emotional. To me it looks like they were pushed out with no say.

Fifi has hinted there will be more outside broadcasts in Melbourne suburbs in the future.

Survey 3 has gotten me thinking… maybe people actually like the current 2DayFM format? Like, the music is good - but I just can’t see how people can like HE&E.

Hold your horses. Sure it improved a little but it’s still 7th and miles away from the competition.

To be fair though there is an awful lot of competition in that space in Sydney. KIIS, Nova, Cada and to some extent Smooth/WS. In that context 2day is doing pretty well.

2Day has been improving little by little in every survey. There was a time it was rating below 3%. I remember one survey it was 2.9%. Could have been worse than that too. So the difference to 5.3% is big.

I agree. I think they’re playing the long game. I had a listen online a bit last week and the music is good. They’re trying to take on KIIS and Smooth. Unfortunately KIIS/WSFM & Smooth are well oiled machines and it will take a lot to break them.

I hope to see 2Day get some success in the future. I think they can still make some money out of where they’re sitting.

It’s the best result for 2DayFM in a long time. 5.3 is a very good number in a very tight market.

Vance Joy performed on the rooftop of Fox’s Clarendon Street studios yesterday, the last performance before SCA moves to nearby Moray Street.

Which will be rebranded as Nova100’s Red Room? :joy:

Funny, but no. The rooftop is part of level 2 which is currently for lease. It looks like Nova are only taking over level 1.
