New promo for all Hit radio stations nation wide

I just saw a billboard for 2DayFM on the M5. It features and mother and daughter in a cute pose with the words “love and laughter” or some other female focus-group approved language.

Imagine seeing the ad - switching to 1041 - and then hearing rap songs or Hamish and Andy.

Weird ad for a CHR station. Good ad for smooth 95.3 or Mix 1065. Possibly may have worked for vega as well. Even Lite’n’Easy 1269 could have picked up some listeners using this billboard.

The picture, words and imaging feel like “easy”, “smooth”, “restful”, “gentle”’ “cool” or even “calm”.

I suppose the big light blue letter “H” is the clue that this station plays hits and R&B. It’s a cryptic clue though.

Angus is leaving the Hot 30 and moving to Adelaide breakfast. This Friday is his last night.

I knew something was up when Gemma Fordham teased an “announcement regarding hit107” in the Friday of the last survey.

Edit: Audio here http://www.radiotoday.com.au/articles/blair-sullivan/9737-gf-sca-survey-6.html

It’s Angus’ second time on Breakfast on 107.1, he did breakfast with Hayley back in 2013 when it was still SAFM for three months before moving to the bump.

I wonder who is replacing him?

Angus is a big talent, a loss to SCA nationally.

Turn on Fox around 9 this morning - they’re doing the “Oldschool 9 at 9” feature.

My god. It was like turning back the clock to Mix 101.1, circa 2012. A mess of 90’s dance and 00’s Hot AC. Yuck.

No Dave Cameron, hence yuck factor on the rise.

It was Emma Freedman’s last show last night too.

New hosts to be announced today.

Re: Emma Freedman leaving Hit 30 to join Triple M Sydney’s Grill Team

Indeed Ash will replace Emma. Ash will host her own show Ash London Live at 8-11pm weeknights according to Radioinfo.

Well this timeslot’s been a mess since the end of the old Hot30 Countdown.

Can SCA just stick to one format and tough it out?

Finally! 8-11 is a much better slot than a 2 hour show. Ash is a huge talent, she will rock it.

Should really be 7-10 with Rove and Sam from 10pm

So it’s coming to the end of the “radio year” in the next 6-7 weeks. Do we think Rove and Sam will be back next year or is there a new show being organised that is yet to be announced?

What should they do: Keep Rove. Find another co-host.
What will they do: No change.

They will wait until the end of the current season of the bachelorette and hire Georgia.

Or find a bunch of on air talent, Rove always worked best when surrounded by people to bounce off. A morning zoo type show is the way to go on 2Day.

If the ratings remain steady or improve in Survey #7 and #8: Rove and Sam survive until at least Easter next year.

If the ratings drop during Survey #7 and #8: A new 2DayFM breakfast show for 2017, which knowing the Hit Network’s love of The Bachelor/Bachelorette…

Haha. Knowing the Hit Network’s love of The Bachelor/The Bachelorette, it certainly wouldn’t surprise me if Georgia Love (and/or Richie Strahan) becomes the future of 2DayFM breakfast! :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Personally though, I think that 2DayFM should take a risk and try some talent that’s completely new to the Sydney radio market for a change (surely there are plenty of presenters across the SCA Hit Network who’d jump at the opportunity to present in Sydney?!), even if they have to give them a bit of time during mornings/afternoons to build up their profile. At least if it doesn’t work out, it’d probably still cost the network less than the big name presenters that 2DayFM breakfast has tried and failed with since 2014!

Start your day with Rove and Maz on Sydney’s Hit Leader - 2DayFM

The Breakfast Shift with Dan and Sam on Sydney’s Hit Frequency - 1041 2DayFM

Whatever happens I just bet that someone from SCA is calling Tostee today.
