Hit Network

I can’t see them dropping the Mix brand for Hit when they’ve just made such a song and dance by returning SAFM and B105

If they didn’t want to keep the Mix brand they would have just re-branded it Triple M and kept Hit 92.9

I hope Mix goes closer to what other Hit Stations are playing to cater for those disgruntled Hit 92.9 listeners looking for a new home and battle Nova for the CHR Hot AC market.

I was of the opinion that they should have kept 92.9 possibly switching to 6PM or PMFM and rebranded Mix 94.5 to Triple M. But ratings rule and it would have been too risky to change Mix and relaunch two new radio stations. Although some of the comments on various social media pages suggest that people would have preferred Mix to become Triple M instead of Hit 92.9.

I suppose I should have said Hit ‘imaged’ or similar. That the main relationship to the hit network will be branding and some networked shows, but not the music format.

I fully expect it to be named Mix for the long term, even to the extent of renaming regional WA Hit stations to Mix, so they can network more state wide, like with SAFM.

Ah right, sorry.

I agree they will (or should) tweak the playlist and not just copy the Hit playlist.

Here’s a version with the white background 92.9 logo circa 2001-2005…

I actually hate the Triple M logo full stop. I’ve never liked this one and it seems well overdue for a makeover.

So many questions still to be answered of who the breakfast team on 92.9 will be?the workday line up how many networked shows any idea of when we will get announcement this coming Monday?

And just to add listening to Xavier Jules and Pete’s announcement on Thursday morning that they would be finishing up this coming week was upsetting Pete was very emotional felt for all 3 of them.

I personally think Pete will stay on the new Triple M and either score a daytime slot, be the anchor for the new breakfast show, or will take on the Rush Hour programme, which he previously hosted on Mix 94.5.

I still think Mix 94.5 will be “Hit Network” in look only (logo, and possibly the same production, jingles, etc). I think they’ll pull the rock out of the music logs, but I doubt they’ll add any urban/r&b into it. The current breakfast show, which appeals to an older audience, is staying. I think Carrie & Tommy in drive is a very safe sounding show, so it won’t be too offensive and would appeal to the older audience. And as mentioned previously, I sincerely doubt they will take Ash London or any other network shows. I think the Party Mix will stay as is. I guess the closest comparison I can make would be Mix 102.3 in Adelaide. Technically, it’s part of the KIIS Network, but it’s really not anything like KIIS Sydney or Melbourne. It’s only part of the KIIS Network so they can sell network sponsorships.

I agree re: Pete staying on. Don’t forget he was on MIX94.5 for quite a while.

I wonder if we’ll see RnB Fridays on MIX?

I doubt it, but I could certainly be wrong. I just can’t see them pulling every single feature from 92.9, especially if it hasn’t really been rating.

You’d think that a lack of breakfast team announcement for 92.9 Triple M would be explained by Basil not yet finishing up at 6PR?

So it’s a certain he has the job?I would of thought he would be too busy with the extra work load. Can’t say excited if that’s the case.
