And that was the era when 92.9 had the Freq Club, which was part of the Triple M offering.
I’ve always wondered about that little thing above “FM” in their logo. Is it meant to be a connection to Triple M’s Dr Dan?
5 logo changes in 29 years
I think it goes back to the first KY-FM logo, when 6KY converted to 94.5 FM in the early 90s.
So nothing to do with Dr Dan.
The Mix 94.5, that was awkward when they said it on air.
That was during the initial changeover. They had dropped KYFM and were just using 94.5 on air. Then they kind of had a slow transition phase. Sweepers at the time said “The mix…94.5”, almost like “the mix” was some sort of positioning statement. Then they dropped “the” and just ran “Mix 94.5” together as the new name.
There was another one in between the first two, after they dropped KYFM and before they started the transition to Mix. I didn’t have a clean graphic though…
Have Hit 92.9 changed their branding at all now? Like dropping Hit branding or altering the music a bit?
I’d be surprised if they did anything much just yet… the changeover is still nearly 2 weeks away.
Haven’t heard anything radically different, although I’m not a full bottle on what they were playing before.
I’ve noticed the music on Mix has been a little hotter on weekends recently. At least, I think it has…
I’m fairly sure I read in one of these forums that it had been noted the overnight music logs were identical to other HIT network stations.
Any on air Promos for the New Mix 94.5 coming Dec 1?
Looooooooots of negative comments on the breakfast show update about the changes.
Perthites just don’t like change.
Not yet
Mix play 80’s to 20’s and even 70’s music
Going buy the current music played on the Hit network
I’m thinking 96fm will be the big winner
The new mix will lose listeners very quickly
I think Mix will be a winner out of the changes - I’d expect them to drop a lot of the rock that had crept in to their format, which should make it a station more people are happy with and distinct from 96fm and Triple M.
I would expect that it will be Hit branded, but the delay would give them time to even in any networked programming to substitute for an older music format. I can’t see it being the same as any of the east coast formats - maybe the Hit Regional which I think still plays 80s?
My guess the first survey back you’d see - Nova 1st, Mix 2nd, 96 3rd, JJJ 4th, 6PR 5th and MMM 6th.
