I’ve said a few times on here but if 2DAYFM used the playlist they play on a Sunday Night they would be onto a winner.
Yes I understand it’s all Australia so would have to expand on that however the sound just sounds like no other station in Australia, you combine that with international artist and the odd throwback. Play stuff that isn’t on KIIS or Nova as well.
This is the exact opposite of what they were touting 5 years ago as part of synergies across the Hit Network, one would imagine this will add additional expense to SCA’s budget rather than reduce it.
as part of a broader national strategy aimed at localising the Hit Network, which could be announced as early as Monday.
Also, this doesn’t help explain why they’re returning to B105 when the station seemingly appears to be doing quite well, seems like change for changes sake.
According to the most recent radio survey, Brisbane’s Hit105 was neck-and-neck with commercial rival 97.3FM. Both stations capture a 10.5 per cent share of the listeners aged 10 and over. The station also dominates in the breakfast timeslot with an 11.8 per cent share – outrating 97.3, NOVA106.9 and ABC Brisbane.
Maybe they are hoping to dominate the slightly older female audience that listen to 97.3 by reverting to a heritage name they know and used to listen to “back in the day”.
Loved the comment about “calling the station what you’ve ben calling it for years”. I never stopped calling it B105, especially since “hit105” was so close to the original name anyway.
