2DAY FM can nominate themselves without K&J.

Success never to be repeated at the moment.

Pretty much! I’m personally of the belief that it’ll likely take the retirement of at least one (if not two) long running rival Sydney FM breakfast presenting teams for SCA to again gain any traction in this market with 2DayFM or Triple M.

Of course I’m far from a fan of Kyle & Jackie O’s style of broadcasting, but credit has to be given where credit is due for them being able to build a loyal following which has even followed K&JO over to a new station - doing what was essentially the FM equivalent of Alan Jones’ defection all those years ago.

Up and running on RadioApp.

How does Fox compile the playlist for Little Fox?

They play no music with naughty lyrics.

Here’s some trivia - a baby fox is called a ā€œkitā€.

Hearing chatter around SCA that a number of their Hit stations are changing back to their original branding. Specifically Brisbane and Adelaide.

Well those stations never should’ve been rebranded as Hit in the first place. The B in B105 meant something important to Brisbane, likewise the SA in SAFM for Adelaide.

Definitely makes sense in Adelaide with ā€œHitā€ no longer playing ā€œhit musicā€ but also doing Flashback Friday as a brekkie segment.

Also hearing Moonman on 2MMM is being networked to more than one station out of Sydney.

In that case, Perth, Canberra and Hobart should be changed back as well, so there is consistency across the capital city markets.

Can’t imagine there was much of an attachment to Sea FM in Hobart, or them returning to it especially as there are Grant operated Sea FMs in the state as well.

Newcastle would be the big one if they were going to go beyond SAFM/B105, given how big of a legacy NXFM has in the Today network.

Triple T !!

Though probably too similar to Triple M… But they could change that back to Magic or Heart.

Agreed. Perth & Canberra only branded themselves by their frequency for many years prior to being rebadged as Hit, so I can see (or more to the point, hear) the Hit 92.9 and Hit 104.7 brands remaining intact.

Not to mention the resistiveness of a particular TV station in Newcastle to adopt network branding.

Wouldn’t even surprise me if Novocastrians still refer to Hit 106.9 as NXFM (and likewise Triple M as ā€œKOFMā€)!

PMFM was used for a fair while in Perth.
I think that still might have some heritage value.

I’m not sure how Perth residents feel about the branding of their SCA Hit Network station (although I’d be quite interested to know, of course), but the info I can find online suggests that PMFM hasn’t been used since 2001 when the station became ā€œThe All New 92.9ā€. Station became simply ā€œ92.9ā€ a year or so later with that frequency-only brand lasting until the Hit 92.9 relaunch in January 2015.

From the early 90’s I think?

And definitely agree it should change back. It sounds unique and very ā€˜Perth’ IMO.

1 January 2000 I believe, and it was ā€˜the all new 92.9’ for about a year. They had a competition where a listener designed their logo. A few years later they changed the logo to the swirly fan thing used by the other Today Network stations, then eventually the sH!T logo.

or Sun FM in Shepparton, that was an icon in the region in the early 1990s pre-JJJ.

I can’t see many regionals being changed back, due to the plethora of networked daytime shifts.

Probably only likely to happen in capital city or major provincial markets where they have their own daytime presenters.
