Hey Hey It's Saturday

The service to watch old episodes? I believe it is.

Oh good. Daryl was always a piece of work. Such a arrogant and pathetic individual.

Don’t forget Man-O-Man was on Seven on Saturday’s too…

Hey Hey Goes to Court, coming soon to Nine.

Unlike other countries, including Australia, some programmes aired on Saturday nights in the UK achieve strong viewership levels. For instance, reality talent shows such as The X Factor or Britain’s Got Talent on ITV and Strictly Come Dancing on the BBC, and drama programmes such as Doctor Who on the BBC, usually have high ratings.

A dramedy set on the behind-the-scenes making of Hey Hey in the 1980s/90s would actually be a great idea for a show (along the lines of Larry Sanders show/Frontline/Curb). Sadly it would be unlikely to ever be produced given the likely legal challenges.

What would u focus on - the tension between Daryl and Denise? Ernie’s departure? The axing of the show in 1999?

All of that would make a good biopic one day.

All of the above.

Next year will be the 50th anniversary of the original show which ran until 1999 and returned in 2009 with 2 reunion shows and a full season in 2010.

I’m not expecting Daryl and the gang to do anything to celebrate the milestone.

Yeah. It will be a low-key celebration with no one-off reunion specials

Gee, don’t tell Daz. I imagine he’ll want to do something, just don’t expect it to be on the box.
