Currently in Townsville and I can see that channel 74’s name has changed to 7mateHD Townsville. Still showing the same placeholder but is now in 5.1 audio and 1080i resolution.
Regional 74 is now also MPEG 4 on Sunshine Coast as well plus 74 has changed to MPEG 4 in Brisbane.
Brisbane
Regional
With a static slide the bandwidth used ATM is low - both are using 2.1Mbps
Here in Sydney (and probably the other metro markets as well), the placeholder slide on LCN-74 is now in 1080i and with 5.1 audio, but the channel name is still “7food network” - hopefully this will be updated before next Thursday’s (re)launch of 7mateHD!
Not see 7mateHD in Hobart and have not got 7flix in Hobart maybe coming soon this year how I found out one of my friend on a holiday to Hobart from Brisbane
Wasn’t 74 already in MPEG 4? Guessing by your screenshots it is now running at 1920x1080i rather than 702x576i
SCA are too lazy to launch both. If they have a chance, they might launch 7flix first
No sign of it in Prime land.
LCN name has now changed to 7MateHD “location” (Brisbane, Sunshine Coast etc). Yes 1920 x 1080.
Still “7food network” in Sydney as of 10:22am AEDT.
Same here down in Melbourne.
I’m interested to see what they do in RQLD. Will 7HD remain in MPEG-2 and 7mateHD MPEG-4?
Though if they do convert 70 to MPEG-4 they will want to create an MPEG-2 SD feed like metro I guess.
I wouldn’t expect anything from SCA until their playout moves to NPC. It’ll be interesting to see what happens then as there will be no technical limitations. I would expect SCA will want to mimic the metros as much as possible - it fits with their approach of removing their regional differences.
Yes - that’s what has happened. The only change has been a switch from 7Food MPEG 2 to 7Mate HD MPEG4
7Food network was always MPEG4 here in North QLD. Was that not the case down south?
Will they have enough space with SBN and Aspire to squeeze in? Not so much an issue in, say, the Spencer Gulf market where the Ten mux has only 4 metro streams (compared to 6 for Nine and 7 for Seven) but even so
Channel now displaying as 7mateHD Melbourne
The LCN name has finally been updated to “7mateHD Sydney” here!
Also while I’m at it, the placeholder slide has been updated to include a “In Regional Areas Channel 64” disclaimer - presumably only relevant for the Sunshine Coast because I’m pretty sure the other Seven Queensland regional markets will be using 74 while it’s highly unlikely that the Prime or SCA owned regional affiliates will be carrying the channel (at least initially) from next Thursday!
Ch70 is no longer showing the HD on the watermark
prime does not have the placeholder on 64 as there is no 64 as yet and maynot even happen
Neither is Nine with their HD simulcast of the main channel, at least during the tennis.
Personally I think we’ve now reached the stage that if any version of the channel (those which are available in both SD & HD of course) should have a watermark addition, it’s the SD one.
