I personally don’t see the point in putting the “Regional Areas Channel 64” on the bottom, when it only affects one market.

All other regional markets that are seeing that slide will in fact be seeing the channel on 74.

On another note, I wonder if 7QLD will fix the LCN allocation in the Toowoomba market so that 7mate HD is in fact on 64.

Especially since that disclaimer is likely only going to result in a barrage of “Where is 7mateHD?” comments on social media from viewers in Prime & SCA regions come next Thursday.

TBH, I don’t think I was aware that Seven in the Toowoomba/Darling Downs market used the 6x range of LCNs (aside from 74 it seems)…presumably a decent amount of overlap between that market and Brisbane for the use of the 6x LCNs to be necessary there?

Mine was showing0 it yesterday.

No 7mate HD in Darwin as expected. We didn’t even get 7 food.

I’m hoping it comes before Olympics when SCA moves to NPC?

Problem with that though is it would cost them money to set up the technology which is against the SCA philosophy of spending nothing.

Personally, I wouldn’t be surprised if the status quo largely remains intact (although I would expect ads and other locally produced/played out spots on SCA channels to finally be in native HD) even after SCA move to NPC playout.

Aside from the experiences when Seven changed over last year, SCA probably makes more money out of Aspire & SBN than they would out of having two HD channels.

Have just rescanned my TV to get the 7Mate HD Perth on Channel 74. However it’s says In Regional Areas Channel 64.

No setup costs to SCA by using NPC. SCA just pay a monthly/annual/etc rate for each channel and NPC look after making sure they have whatever gear is required and any upgrades as required.

and there is no 64 in prime7 or gwn7 . i think they mean regional qld

Of course. But surely the fact there’s nothing on 64 via Prime/SCA stations at the moment (along with the vague “in regional areas” disclaimer rather than a more specific “in the Sunshine Coast/Darling Downs regions” one) is going to make viewers in Prime/SCA markets who aren’t so savy about the media wonder where this “7mateHD” channel is they’ve been hearing about?

Combine that with the fact it’s only a matter of time before 7mateHD starts getting promoted (as you’d expect) by commentators during sporting telecasts. When that happens, I’m sure we’ll see plenty of “Where is 7mateHD?” social media posts from regional viewers!

If the merger was successful we most likely would have had Mate HD

and this is why people in prime7 and gwn 7 territories are pissed off by . prime 7 will never have 7mate hd they dont have the resourses for it anymore. and i think if poeple knew they wouldnt watch win tv and leave in droves

Why would Seven need a disclaimer on a slide that is only broadcast to areas that will be receiving 7MateHD. If you can get the broadcast you will receive the channel. If you can’t the content of the slide would be irrelevant.

well if enough people who dont get 7mate hd know that 7 mate is going hd they will complain about it . when i was in melbourne knowing that 7 mate is going hd was enough to go on prime7 facebook page and complian. and others would have read that and then realise there missing out once again fist time around

But that has nothing to do with what Seven puts on the slide that is broadcast.

Oh but your wrong. If Melbourne sees it which they do and have a relative in prime or gwn areas they would say there getting 7matehd when there not. That’s what happened as soon as 7 went 7hd

I too take trips just to watch placeholder channels on out of region TV channels.

yes. And?

Different areas get different channels. Some get more than others. And people in different areas might talk to each other. None of this is unusual or earth shattering stuff.

I looked up on Myswitch website and noticed about some specific regions that are out of the metro boundary areas. For example, a place like South Yunderup gets transmitters from Mandurah/Waroona, Bunbury and Perth. (I would have thought that this place was part of Regional WA.) WIll they get 7mate on Channel 74 in this region?

Having different channels available in country areas to city areas is not a foreign concept. We still have WIN maintaining an entirely separate brand (and channel suite), and it was only up until a few years ago that Prime and Southern Cross had separate branding and programming as well.
