Have You Been Paying Attention?

Do you really believe those comedians don’t see the rundown ahead of time and aren’t aware of what stories they may need to have material prepared for?

Yeah but “Have you been paying attention to the pre-show meeting” is too long as a title

Sure. There would be some prep for some of the segments the guests or host presents or some background info about guests who are appearing. But the show is about what’s happened in the news in the past week. I’m sure they’re already aware about what’s happened without needing to provide them with a complete rundown of every question that will be asked.

Don’t bet on that.

Also HYBPA relies on tight editing as much as quick wit.

Next Monday’s line up

A line-up with Kitty or Anne (or both as in this case) is always one to watch.

It will be Anne’s first appearance on the show since giving birth to her first child (a girl) at the end of October last year.

Have Anne, Aaron, Kitty, Sam And Ed Been Paying Attention?

Monday, 16 May At 8.40pm On 10 And 10 Play On Demand.

The premiere line up for season 10 of Have You Been Paying Attention? is all killer, no filler.

Making her highly anticipated return is the queen of alter egos, Anne Edmonds, who will bring her fearless and familiar brand of comedy to the podium.

Fresh from his sell-out comedy festival tour, hot shot Aaron Chen will unveil his gloriously meta comic genius in the hot seat alongside stand-up comedian Kitty Flanagan, who is also the famed co-host of The Junkees with Dave O’Neil.

Regular contestants Sam Pang and Ed Kavalee are back for their tenth round of sucker punches to the unwavering one and only Quizmaster Tom Gleisner, who returns with topical questions from the world of celebrity, sport, international affairs and the perfectly timed federal election.

We’re just a week away from all your favourite segments, all your favourite faces, all packed into one fast and loose hour of glorious fun on Have You Been Paying Attention?

Ed Kavalee did an hilarious interview on Studio 10 this morning. Worth a watch - he even bought 2 steam mpos while waiting for the interview to start. “People always say to me why do you win all the time - these are some of the dumbest people in the world.”.

Love how they mention “local content quotas” :joy: “Jokes on you we don’t have an audience anymore!”
They’re self aware!

First time (ever?) we saw the green room in use for the show. The camera captured Lloyd Langford caring for daughter Gwen while Anne Edmonds was competing.

They’ve splurged on a new set piece. A massive question mark on the studio floor.

The set could’ve done with a refresh.

To Aaron: that was actually Squidward’s nemesis Squilliam.

I didn’t realise Nikki Britton does the voiceover for all those HYBPA promos (she revealed it in tonight’s show).

She has done a brilliant job.
