This lockdown has gone on too long. Dan must open up now to save us from the scourge of average-to-terrible panelists.
Have you been paying attention⊠to 2010? That BBC weather Tomasz Schafernaker finger video they used to close the show is over a decade old. I thought this show was supposed to be topical. Theyâve already lost a couple of their best panelists to the sister show and now it appears theyâre saving all the current, good clips for The Cheap Seats.
Is this show starting to falter?
The advantage of The Brady Bunch video wall last season was having Sydney and NZ guests, so yes it isnât helping right now. They often use very old YouTube clips at the end of the show, itâs always annoyed me.
Looks like Iâm in the vast minority here, but I quite enjoyed Luke a couple of weeks ago. I think the regulars that show up every few weeks are really strong ie Marty, Kitty, Anne, Celia, Lloyd and probably one or two others I canât remember off the top of my head. I much prefer Luke to a fair few of the quite vanilla, less regulars in the rotation though.
Can certainly see why heâd grate on so many however and I thought Anne looked quite confused/ annoyed when he was on last.
Look Iâm sure Luke is a nice guy but maybe someone needs to explain how this show works to him. Even though heâs been on multiple times it seems like sometimes he doesnât even know what he is doing on there.
Be interesting to see where Tony Armstrongâs clip from this morning on News Breakfast ends up.
The Celia / Luke combo is a bit meh tonight.
Overall show is feeling a little flat.
Maybe secretly they hate each other
Iâve laughed more tonight than in recent weeks. More from the others than Luke. But Sam, Ed et al are on point.
No opinion either way on Luke but overall tonightâs episode feels very flat.
Maybe itâs just news fatigue, given the depressing state of things.
Next week: Lloyd, Tony, and Alex Ward.
And Sam off again with Mel subbing in.
Thatâs a lot of one-note comedians with the same dry humourâŠ
At least Tonyâs back?
The best lineup is definitely be Glenn, Marty, Kitty, Anne and Sam. Tony is good in small doses and Alex is still settling into the role. Lloyd and Mel are still pretty good and Ed isâŠEd.
It feels like they do things to make each other laugh but nobody else finds their in-jokes that funny. Probably not that great for them to be on together.
Interesting, I wouldnât have put Glenn in my top 10.
Otherwise I agree, it would be a strong lineup.
Iâm imaging how dry a Lloyd, Sam, Marty, Alex and Urzila lineup would be.
Tom would absolutely have his work cut out for him.
Same here, I thought it was very good.
