I just think it is seat that could be used for some different voices: either up and comers and/or more established names.
Ever since Last One Laughing, I have been less of an Ed fan. He is a bit bland and not exciting.

He was very underwhelming in last one laughing.
Are u guys saying that Ed should step down?
I am not saying Ed should step down, but he should appear less often, when state borders reopen we can have more rotations of comedians.
A monthly appearance would be nice. Sam is good but not stale and has the odd week off to make you miss him.
Ed was great in TGYH. The fame has gone to his head.
He’s awkward, and not funny enough to pull it off. I don’t rate him on the radio either his podcast is decent but that’s because he gets good guests and can run a conversation.
He’s one of the core crew along with Sam Pang, I doubt they’ll be asking him to appear less anytime soon while the show is still rating well.
Ed has his moments of brilliance on the show when he’s taking the piss like the other comedians but some of his gags are starting to become overused. Not to mention the fact that him answering the questions correctly makes him (inadvertently) seem like a smartarse.
Having said that, he and Sam complements each other perfectly and they work as an ensemble along with Tom.
Ed was very funny last night, especially during the guest chat with Jimmy and Holly. His knowledge helps keep the format moving.
He was 10 times better anchoring Hughesy & Kate in the Nova days.
I actually don’t mind Ed on HYBPA. He moves the question along too if there are too many “joke answers”. And he can “tease him” with all the commercials he is in. I liked him on the Santo Sam and Ed shows too, as well as an improv actor in Thank God You’re Here. I dont listen to him much on the radio though.
Agree that Ed answering the questions correctly keeps the show rolling along. Tom, Sam and Ed together are a great combo. Messing with the winning formula could result in failure.
What about when Ed was doing Get This on Triple M?
The only thing I find hard to watch with Ed is the straight face he makes after telling a joke. It’s like he’s trying so hard to not smile or laugh, but he looks so uncomfortable doing it.
Apart from that though I think he serves well as an Andy Lee style straight guy who can balance out the funnier guests.
Two guest quizmasters this week: singer-songwriter Gordi, and Paralympic gold medallist (and Australian flagbearer at the Tokyo Paralympics closing ceremony) Ellie Cole.
Luke back on the panel next week.
See y’all in a fortnight, gang
Oh my god…
