Depends when they tape it. Ed could do the 2Day show from Melbourne that day and fly back straight after.
Of course, that depends if the breakfast gig is a success.

They pay for talent to appear on the show all the time, flights and accommodation included so I don’t think that’s an issue for them at all but it depends how long they keep producing it in its current format.
The show used to tape on Sundays before they lunched The Sunday Project but now it tapes on Saturdays I believe, due to studio availability at 10’s Como studios.
Accom and flights is a puddle. It’s nothing especially when it has a big effect on a show like cast.
They still film Sundays, Sunday Project is done from Sydney.
Accommodation not needed - $500 a week for flights and a couple of taxis to bring one of their main stars in is nothing.
I think they should consider keeping the panel on the screen doing it remotely. It would firstly save costs and you could potentially get some international comedians next year. I think this is the future of television.
I think it’ll be a hybrid.
The podiums will be back in studio, but I think the guest quiz masters will be a mix of in studio and remote, that definitely gives more flexibility, as opposed to who happens to be in Melbourne at the time.
Agreed. Even post-pandemic, I think the days of Australian TV networks spending ridiculous amounts of money flying talent across the country/planet are (or at least should be) over. If productions can still incorporate top notch talent in a more cost effective way with remote links, they absolutely should!
Yes, I think that would be the best way forward for Have You Been Paying Attention? Still have a core mix of in-studio panelists, but a remote element to allow for overseas/interstate talent which otherwise may not appear on the show.
glad that HYBPA won the Best Entertainment Program award at the AACTA’s. Such a simple show, but the chemistry between the host, panelist and guests work perfectly.
Tom made the acceptance speech during the filming of the second last episode of the year, with Tony, Urzila and Amanda as guests.
There’s a bit of a HYBPA reunion coming up in a future episode of ABC’s new comedy Frisk - it will feature Kitty as well as Marty Sheargold in a main character role plus Sam Pang in a guest acting role.
I read in TV Week that Glenn Butcher from Full Frontal will be making a guest appearance in Frisk.
Episode one - tonight- features another HYBPA reunion with Glenn Robbins making a rather shocking appearance.
In later ones there is also Denise Scott and Ed Kavalee.
AFAIK, Tom Gleisner is not in the show.
Makes this also a Micallef Program S1E5 reunion
BRB going to watch that episode before I deem your post likeworthy.
Edit:
Do we know if the contestants will be appearing virtually again, or will they all return to the studio?
Hopefully they will all be back in the studio.
I think it will be virtually so they can continue to have people interstate and in New Zealand on
I’m so ready for this.
