Interesting move by ten. Not a bad one. Interestingly they have given up on that Monday 8:30 timeslot for some reason.
Means they’d have to film it Saturday nights now, which makes sense if they did Sunday Project in Melbourne.
About time! One of the few current shows I watch regularly.
Interesting… they really change the day just so they can keep The Sunday Project in Melbourne? Only problem is Masterchef always goes forever so some people might get viewer fatigue and it wont be a regular timeslot.
They could film on Saturday and still air it on Monday if they wanted to.
The move is designed to offer a more competitive alternative to Sunday Night and 60 Minutes and I think it’s quite a clever strategy when combined with Masterchef.
Some of the guests that have appeared in promos so far.
Rosanne also works here - mix and match promos.
They better hope viewers follow it there, because they are creatures of habit and may prefer to watch it in the previously consistent Monday night slot.
This means as well as the show being up against 60 minutes and whatever Seven schedules on Sunday, the first episode will also be up against the Eurovision final, which always rates pretty well for SBS.
Chrissie Swan revealed on Nova 100 breakfast today that the show would stay on Mondays. The new season starts May 14 at 8.30pm.
EDIT: the premiere date is also in today’s Herald Sun with quotes from Tom Gleisner.
Jane Kennedy, Kitty Flanagan and Anne Edmonds will compete on next Monday’s season premiere.
2016 X Factor winner and 2017 Eurovision Song Contest contestant Isaiah Firebrace is the guest quizmaster for tonight’s season opener.
Another year not in HD… honestly can’t even get this right.
They just made a joke out of the budget blooper on the ABC when Leigh Sales couldn’t get Greg Jennett. and said ‘Greg gone’
Next week on the show:
So the advertised start time was 8.30pm. Had this set to record with time padding and I still missed the end. How long did Masterchef overrun?
Why not kill off one of the few remaining shows that performs mid evening with bullshit fluid start times. I’ll know to stick with my Netflix shows next week
HYBPA started at 8:46 apparently
That sort of crap should be made illegal. That’s false advertising. If it was a sports event or a news program running overtime for a fair excuse, like a match going into overtime or breaking news, fair call. But MasterBate…erm, MasterChef is not live. Therefore, there should be no excuse for that sort of crap to go on.
Again, whilst we have these toothless tigers in charge of ACMA, this crap will continue. I’ll be watching via TenPlay later on and watching Last Week Tonight at the same time.
Yup. Started right on 8.46. Shame the promos don’t match the EPG, which was accurate to the minute.
