I’d like to see a commercial station play ‘In-a-Gadda-Da-Vida’ in its entirety, or better yet side 1 of Jethro Tull’s ‘Thick As A Brick’. Side 1 of ‘Tubular Bells’ is about the same length (25 mins).

It was probably in the middle of their career… being the 2nd single off their ‘Absolutely’ album from 1985 (released in between ‘We Will Together’ and ‘Can’t Wait To See You’).

DURAN DURAN - Union Of The Snake

On WSFM earlier tonight.

For some reason, despite making it to #4 in the charts, this is a thoroughly forgotten track of theirs. It’s only had 16 spins in the past 3 years according to Lava, and all of those were on WS.

Kosheen - Catch, played as part of K-Rock’s old school lunch today

An electronic number with a great vocal line, from memory was pretty big and was even used in a few ads/promos in the early 2000s (Fox FM maybe??), but one I haven’t heard in a long time

That was also played on 94.9 Power FM in Nowra, which carries the same log & therefore has the same program.

That would’ve been for “The Fugitive”, which was a competition that ran across what has then the Today Network, and spun off as a short-lived reality TV series on Ten, hosted by Matt Tilley, who was on Fox FM at the time.

I remember that this song was performed on an old Countdown episode from 1980, which I happened to catch repeated on Rage a few years ago. Never thought it would be aired on commercial radio after all this time…
