These countdowns are a great addition and result in some less safe songs being played more often than not. The ‘Ten From Then’ concept (in this case, five) has been around a good while of course, first used by i98 and now by the Forever Classic stable.

Some solid tunes in that list. It’s surprising that this Pete Townshend song didn’t get some airplay following the release of Red Dog in 2011 (it’s played right at the end of the film).

Triple M (Sydney) just played the 12 inch version of Dire Strait’s “Money For Nothing”.
I know the 7 inch version gets flogged mercilessly, but great to hear the long version on the radio!

So Far Away- Dire Straits on WS-FM on the drive home tonight. Haven’t heard that on radio for a while. The Brothers in Arms album was huge when I was at school in the 1980s but I hadn’t revisited their hits for a while. Spent the last few hours watching DS on YouTube.

Did they include the “little fa**ot” lines?
I know that Classic Rock 1377 in Melbourne used to play that with the line uncensored; suspect MMM might be more on the ball here

2CA surprising played Valerie by Steve Winwood today! I never thought I would hear this song again… When I went in Serina’s car to swimming lessons back in primary school I would hear this every once in a while.
