Now at Toowoomba, driving to the Gold Coast shortly where I’ll be until Monday then back home via the Pacific Hwy. Might do a day trip to the Sunshine Coast on Friday if the weather holds up.
How is 4WK sounding on 95.5?
Also curious as to whether the AM stereo 936 signal gets into Toowoomba at all?
95.5 is sounding excellent. Recption only good within about 5 kms of the CBD though.
963 seems fine in the CBD too.
Today
From Stanthorpe to the Gold Coast via Toowoomba! (the very long way around)
Break In The Weather - Jenny Morris
(on Voice 92.9 Toowoomba, sounding like pseudo Christian-commercial station)
The Gambler - Kenny Rogers
(on 102.7 FM Toowoomba - I just love that song - criminally forgotten to commercial radio)
Agadoo - Black Lace
(on 101FM Logan - a guilty pleasure of mine)
Borrow My Heart - Taylor Henderson
(on Juice 107.3 Gold Coast -another pseudo Christian-commercial station)
Runaway Train - Soul Asylum
(on Salt 106.5 Sunshine Coast)
Tarzan Boy - Baltimora
(on Breeze 100.6 Gold Coast region).
Yet another God Squadder befouling its church with its pseudo commercialism.
I don’t mind that, I wouldn’t listen to it at all otherwise. But as soon as an overly Christian song comes on, i change stations (again).
Yeah, we’re ‘blessed’ with them in this part of the world. Brisbane, both coasts and up the range all have those stations.
King Of Pain / The Police on The Breeze. My all-time favourite Police song.
The Pretenders- Show Me
Moving Pictures- Pleasure & Pain
TEABBA Radio NT of all stations and back to back too! @1323ZM - they actually played a Moving Pictures B-side.
Drove from Coffs Harbour back home to Newcastle today
Heard these
According To You - Orianthi
(on 107.3 MAX FM Taree)
You Got It - Roy Orbison
Flesh For Fantasy - Billy Idol
You’re A Friend Of Mine - Clarence Clemons & Jackson Browne
(on 88.9 2RE Taree)
My Favourite Waste Of Time - Owen Paul
(on 103.7 2NUR FM Newcastle)
Aunty Jack Theme
Slade- Cum On Feel The Noize
Orleans- Dance With Me
Forever Classic 70s, Canberra DAB, all from this week.
I’m impressed with this station. They play the rarer hits that 2CA used to play about 15 years ago. It’s now my go to when in the car.
I’d love to see them do a Forever Classic 80s station.
I have to see if I can listen online, I found in the radio app .
It’s available on the RadioApp
That’s the Queanbeyan narrowcast station, which relays the Canberra DAB station.
The same in Goulburn, where it’s on 100.7 FM.
Thanks sorry for my out of date knowledge .
Not quite. 97.5 in Queanbeyan relays Forever Classic 60s, as does 100.7 Goulburn. FC70s is new and DAB/online only.
Haven’t extensively listened to FC60s but will give it a go from time to time.
Oddly enough we don’t have an 80s station on Canberra DAB; MMM 90s covers that decade.
There’s a gap in the Canberra market for a Forever Classic 80s station in that case.
Yep but 80s have always been a bit of an afterthought at 2CA…they are more in XL/GN’s wheelhouse.
I’d actually prefer a combined 60s/70s/80s station playing exclusively rarer tracks, call it Forever Classic Deep Tracks or similar. The Sound NZ have done that.
