I am the god of hellfire! And I bring youâŚ
Invertigo! Thereâs a band you certainly donât hear every day. âDesensitisedâ was the one of theirs I remember, would have been from that same turn of the millennium era as this one.
Lead singer Christian Argenti went on to be a radio presenter with SEN back in the day, and then the SCA regionals?
Was called Vertigo initially, before a brief breakup then coming back as Invertigo. Vertigo had âForever Latelyâ.
Always reminds me of The Prodigy sample.
They are something of a Conga Line favourite. âDesensitisedâ is a terrific piece of power pop/rock and one of the last great songs from that genre to hit the charts.
Interesting choice given the developments regarding a festival advertising John being the headline act through the regional networkâŚ
Heard tonight
Like A Virgin - Madonna
Automatic- Pointer Sisters
(both on Smooth FM)
Look What Youâve Done - JET

Iâm Only Shooting Love - Time Bandits
(on WSFM Sydney)
I love that song! Even the announcer Steve Fitton agreed, he back announced it as a âgreat songâ and also referenced their other hit âEndless Roadâ.
Both those Time Bandits songs are great. They actually did a tour of regional centres back in the early 80s and I saw them play the Maryborough (QLD) showgrounds. The video for Endless Road was shot mostly in Queensland. I think they had more success in Australia than their native Holland.
I also love the song listen to the man with the golden voice by the Time Bandits, I think I requested it on the Andy show once or twice.
Edit it was Live it up. But both songs are great.

When I was at Woolworths, I heard a good song Sweet About Me from Gabriella Cilmi. It was a terrific song back then.
One of those songs that was flogged to death in the mid 2000s but you barely hear in 2024.
Would she be classified a one-hit wonder?
Earlier This week when I went to Woolworths in Maitland I heard Jamiroquaiâs âCorner of the Earthâ from their album âA Funk Odysseyâ a calm bossa nova banger which only charted at #52 on the ARIA Chart in 2002.
Soft Cellâs 12 inch Tainted Love/Where Did Our Love Go on WLS Chicago.
