Some solid songs I heard on the Triple M Regionalâs version of Awesome 80s Friday yesterday via Triple M Newcastle 102.9 FM
While You See a Chance - Steve Winwood
Looking for Clues - Robert Palmer
You Make My Dreams - Daryl Hall and John Oates
Poison - Alice Cooper
Double Fantasy wouldnât have won the Grammy had Lennon lived. it was also a joint album with Yoko which didnât help sales.
I heard these songs on The Breeze this morning :
Emeli Sande ,âClownâ great singer ,not played on many stations
De Barge , âRhythm of the Night â
Mental as Anything, âSpirit got Lostâ,
itâs great to hear a hit from the Mentals that isnât , âLive it Up â or âThe Nips are Getting Bigger â
The Breeze also played this morning,
âMexican Girl â by Smokie, yes most folks think their only hit wasâLiving Next Door to Alice â,ie: Who the F**k is Alice?â![]()
âShoop Shoop Diddy Wopâ - Monte Video and The Cassettes.
Just heard on 4BH as part of its âSaturday Night Jukeboxâ (iirc).
Sounds quite jarring next to all the oldies 50âs-60âs stuff thatâs usually in the mix
.
And her Diddy Wop gave you a nasty fright?
Could not sit still, thatâs for sure.
A new cover/sample version of Stumblinâ In is getting a lot of airplay on radio in Germany at the moment. It will probably start getting airplay here soon.
Oh thatâs a pity. Stumblin In is a great song. I hate it when they tamper with great songs like that.
I just heard it on a Top 40 countdown on Antenne Bayern, the song is the Suzi Quattro and Chris Norman original vocals with a bit of additional back beat and finger clicking added to it.
Whilst driving home, I heard a good song, Bitter Tears from INXS on abc sport radio. This song has a good rhythm
It already has, as I heard it on Star 104.5 on the Central Coast of NSW this morning whilst flicking through.
After doing some googling Iâm sure it will get airplay here as it may meet the Australian content requirements, the DJ doing the remix (Cyril The Producer) is from regional NSW and now living in Darwin.
If youâre only just realising that now, youâre seeing your way for the first time in years.
Thatâs what they call âdoing no wrongâ, and for a time INXS certainly came up Millhouse.
Just recently on Nights with Dave Gleeson via Triple M Newcastle 102.9 is Ashes to Ashes by Faith No More from âAlbum of the Yearâ their last album before their disbandment in 1998 and their 2009 reunion. Charted at 8 on the Aria charts in 1997 and trust me this should get more airplay than their cover of âEasyâ these days.
Other tunes by Faith No More that should get more airplay include Evidence, Midlife Crisis and Kindergarten.
Great song!
Though I donât like how they named the LP âAlbum Of The Yearâ though.
It sounds misleading, when I first heard it on the radio, I thought it meant it had won a major award, like a Grammy or something. I didnât realise that was the actual name of the album.
Itâs âon their headâ though I guess.
I did a FNM triple play just recently in response to some (very similar) comments on MS. It proves the discussion is quite circular on here ![]()
