Great songs heard on radio

Some rarer played good ones played on ‘Nights With Dave Gleeson’ tonight

Fall Of Rome - James Reyne
Won’t Get Fooled Again - The Who
Hey Jealousy - Gin Blossoms

And with today being ‘Valentine’s Day’ the theme was ‘Upbeat Love Songs’.
They played the following rarer good ones

I Believe In A Thing Called Love - The Darkness
I Want Your Love - Transvision Vamp
Radar Love - Golden Earring

I was half expecting the theme to be ‘Anti Love Songs’ eg. She Hates Me - Puddle Of Mudd (love that song).

Double Fantasy wouldn’t have won the Grammy had Lennon lived. it was also a joint album with Yoko which didn’t help sales.

I heard these songs on The Breeze this morning :
Emeli Sande ,”Clown” great singer ,not played on many stations
De Barge , “Rhythm of the Night “
Mental as Anything, “Spirit got Lost”,:+1:it’s great to hear a hit from the Mentals that isn’t , “Live it Up “ or “The Nips are Getting Bigger “

‘Shoop Shoop Diddy Wop’ - Monte Video and The Cassettes.

Just heard on 4BH as part of its ‘Saturday Night Jukebox’ (iirc).

Sounds quite jarring next to all the oldies 50’s-60’s stuff that’s usually in the mix .

And her Diddy Wop gave you a nasty fright?

Could not sit still, that’s for sure.

A new cover/sample version of Stumblin’ In is getting a lot of airplay on radio in Germany at the moment. It will probably start getting airplay here soon.

Oh that’s a pity. Stumblin In is a great song. I hate it when they tamper with great songs like that.

I just heard it on a Top 40 countdown on Antenne Bayern, the song is the Suzi Quattro and Chris Norman original vocals with a bit of additional back beat and finger clicking added to it.

Whilst driving home, I heard a good song, Bitter Tears from INXS on abc sport radio. This song has a good rhythm

It already has, as I heard it on Star 104.5 on the Central Coast of NSW this morning whilst flicking through.

After doing some googling I’m sure it will get airplay here as it may meet the Australian content requirements, the DJ doing the remix (Cyril The Producer) is from regional NSW and now living in Darwin.

If you’re only just realising that now, you’re seeing your way for the first time in years.

That’s what they call ‘doing no wrong’, and for a time INXS certainly came up Millhouse.

Just recently on Nights with Dave Gleeson via Triple M Newcastle 102.9 is Ashes to Ashes by Faith No More from “Album of the Year” their last album before their disbandment in 1998 and their 2009 reunion. Charted at 8 on the Aria charts in 1997 and trust me this should get more airplay than their cover of “Easy” these days.

Other tunes by Faith No More that should get more airplay include Evidence, Midlife Crisis and Kindergarten.
