Heard this on CW Remix DAB Sydney a short while ago
Cry - Lisa Edwards
It was a cover of the Godley & Creme song and released in 1992 by the Adelaide singer.
Got a fair bit of airplay back then but have not heard it on the radio since!

Just heard Life on Mars (underappreciated in Australia) David Bowie classic on Gold UK
War Pigs - Black Sabbath, now on Power100.
Now there is a forgotten song. I heard this way before the Godley and Crème original and so didnât realise it was a cover.
I was the same! I prefer the cover too.
Yeah me too. There are a number of songs where I prefer the cover. Maybe thatâs an idea for a new thread :).
You Keep Me Hanging On / Kim Wilde
Always Something There To Remind Me / Naked Eyes
Heard three solidly good songs on Triple M Newcastle 102.9 FM via the Regional version of Awesome 80s Friday.
R.E.M. - Stand
Suzanne Vega - Luka
And
Yazoo - Only You
The only REM song i like is Everybody Hurts.
Automatic for the People is a brilliant album.
How do I tell Jim Waley that itâs over?
Is this 2004?

On Triple Mâs âNights With Dave Gleesonâ, The âClassic 9 at 9â was âforgotten coversâ.
A couple of really good covers that were released as singles here that Iâd forgotten about were played
Viva Las Vegas - ZZ Top (Elvis Presley original) - the cover was released here in 1992 and got to #28 in the AUS charts. Really good choice for a cover as it really suits their music style.
The Real Thing - Midnight Oil (Russell Morris original) - the Oils cover was released in 2000 but only made it to #48 on the AUS charts.
You also reminded me of this D-Generation Late Show dig at Waley, Lyneham and Harvey:
"At the same bloody desk, with the same f__king background.â
I remember watching the video clip on Rage and being scared of ZZ Topâs beards (I was only six at the time). I play it on the Conga Line every now and then.
The Oils cover of âThe Real Thingâ doesnât do it for me though.
One thing I think that Gleeson should have played is the Nick Barker and The Reptiles cover of âCome Up and See Me (Make Me Smile)â.
That is a favorite of mine. Killer track.
I played that a few weeks ago. Do yourself a flavour and listen!
Was at Woolies yesterday and I heard Murder on the Dance Floor by Sophie Ellis-Bextor.
