Phillip Bailey (with Phil Collins on drums and vocals) - Walking on the Chinese Wall on Triple M Melbourne’s Flock of 80s yesterday, haven’t heard that on the radio since the days of EON!
Common Ground / Goanna tonight on 99.7 Bridge FM. Wow, I haven’t heard this since the 80s. Yet I still knew all the words! I think this song pretty much captured the 80s political angst perfectly.
I played ‘Rip In Heaven’ from ‘Til Tuesday on The Conga Line. It was part of a ‘Crap From The Past’ tribute. ‘Voices Carry’ has also been played in the past.
I have also played plenty of Goanna including ‘Common Ground’. Goanna is mainly played on the Tuesday night show (album rock).
Triple M just need a lot more songs like this, and a lot less of the same old flogged bogan songs. I can’t put up with all the same type of rock songs to wait for gems like this to pop up.
Played on 2UE this morning. I’ve personally never heard this track on Australian radio before (although according to an earlier post, it was played on Smooth back in 2016).
Been on 3MP’s log for quite some time. Have also heard it in regional Vic. 2QN & Edge long before ACE bought them, GOLD 1071 and The River 1467. ABC 774 have used it as a filler over the years too.
Anyone know the name of this track heard on this 4BH 1987 aircheck.
The track runds from 1:10 to 1:30.
I done a google search on the lyrics “I love green” “Tell the world I do” but only seem to get the two matches from Al green and Jimmy Reed which are two totally different songs.
