Great songs heard on radio

I get the exact opposite…90.3 is fair mono and 88.7 is faint to non-existent (Vintage FM from Camden dominates).

Perhaps ‘Fortress Around Your Heart’ was COVID-19 inspired…better put a fortress round every organ of your body in fact!

From my location North west Sydney, I can’t get either with my pocket radio. This is indoors and not trying very hard.

The Rain, The Park & Other Things by the Cowsills. I know a bit of a corny song but it was just played on 2ue. But in these strange/uncertain times its a good song to hear again.

They could have followed that up with ‘Devil Woman’ and ‘We Don’t Talk Anymore’ by Cliff Richard. A picture of a chequered romance, perhaps? If so, play ‘Chequered Love’ and ‘Cambodia’ by Kim Wilde next.

The jilted lover fled to Phnom Penh, apparently.

House Of Cards - Ganggajang

Now Playing on 2MCR 100.3 Campbelltown

Haven’t heard that on radio for years!

Normally if it’s Ganggajang, they’ll be playing “Sounds of Then”.

I can maybe google this but the same song as James Reyne?

No- they are different songs.

My favourite song from Ganggajang is ‘Hundreds Of Languages’. I think the old Spirit (WA) used to play it but otherwise it’s a lost song, only aired on Mechie’s show.

Yep that’s a great one.

I know you are out there somewhere by the Moody Blues.

Heard SWR FM. Have not heard that song on radio for a while. It might of been played on 2CA I think. It didn’t really chart well. It was one of the longer songs on commercial radio, I think for around 6 mins.

Reminds me of my grandparents when they moved into there retirement village back in the late 80s. It was in the charts back then, it happen to be on the radio when we drove there to inspect the place they were moving into. Funny how music brings back those great memories of that time.

Thanks @matt86 again for great show!

It reached #37 on the Australian singles charts in 1988. In fact, it was a sequel to their 1986 hit “Your Wildest Dreams”, which was a bigger hit, in which it reached #20.

XLFM now. Pulling out the rarities on a Saturday night again. Loving the fact XL gets in to Bungendore loud and clear.

Obviously it’s a better option than listening to 2GN on AM, at least before that eventually converts to FM as well.

You have a decent selection of adult music commercial stations available there, in which you also have 2CA available on both AM & DAB+. In a way, it’s better than what Sydney gets (DAB-only stations excluded).

Glad you enjoy it Laoma. And yes A80s will be continuing regardless of any “covid shutdown”.
