Any word on if/when 96fm is making the full switch to Gold?
yeah, seems like there has not been any more progress, still the same KIIS logo too!
unless if it is sticking with its hybrid-KIIS/Gold state, and just tilted a little more towards Gold, but not entirely sure what they’re doing…
It’s really wonky in its current state, especially with the heritage logo baked into the kiis lips. How long do they really need? Start pumping in the gold content instead of KJO and Will and woody and they will still continue to grow in the ratings.
They have a good position as per the last survey but it’s not like Perth is a big fan of the KIIS network stuff. A switch to Gold and Christian’s networked show will be much nicer fit for 96fm and its current breakfast show.
A lot less risky than other rebrands given they have a good position and this change is subtle and in the right direction for 96’s format
As we’ve seen in the past, rebranding is the final piece and more expensive option for a network.
ARN may choose to keep visual branding the same as KIIS, similar to how ACE have chosen to keep their metro branding as is, regardless of 3MP pretty much on its own with the Easy Music format.

Surprised they don’t just play both shows in each market, but flipped order, instead of a 6-8am show.
Yesterday while down in the Illawarra 2ST was also taking This Week in Music. Both Gold 101.7 and 2ST were song for song at the exact same time.
Is this program a new addition to 2ST?
Yes, it has been airing on ARN Regional’s “Classic Hits” stations since the beginning of this year.

Jack Post announced this morning he is leaving the Christian O’Connell show.
He’s last show is on Friday.
That’s a big deal for that show. He only has Jack and the newsreader.
Yep. jack flew to London to meet with Christian and audition for the show. Will be a big loss. I’d like to see a young up and comer replace jack. would be perfect to blood some new talent and get them capitol city experiance
Story
Rio and Caitlin can hold their own when they’ve needed to fill in.
No idea, never listened. Not my thing, living in the UK I’m exposed to what they consider “good radio” enough.
In the article he’s going to reveal “big news about the future of the show”, national?
I always found it odd that Jack was allowed into the ARN building, whilst still closely aligned with Hamish & Andy and their extended contract at SCA.
I wonder if SCA had anything to do with this? Maybe they want Jack closer to them and H&A?
All these years later? Surely not.
