Former Australian track cyclist Matt Richardson has pulled out of the Commonwealth Games because of an injury he suffered while racing in Japan.

Richardson sensationally defected from Australia to Great Britain soon after winning three medals at the Paris Olympics.

Update

Good. Can I have a $1 million dollar bonus for being me? She can afford it.

The UK with a small head explosion

It helps getting 2 gold in one event

It does seem very odd this time around.

Lol

Odd take, given they clearly didn’t have a choice where to host it.

Don’t know how accurate this is

Maybe for the good of the games, Australia should compete as individual states pic.twitter.com/rcZKd7wmiE

This is that usual QLD propaganda based on where athletes are based: swimming of course gets a billion by default.

Oh please. How else would you do it apart from which State people live in? The fact is Queensland produces a disproportionate number of Games medals due to a variety of reasons - both the number born in QLD or who move there. Most of the swim stars who move to QLD for better training opportunities move there as kids or teenagers to train. Some from NSW in particular just seem to get bent out of shape about it.

Rose Davies is the first Australian woman to win 5000m and 10000m at the same Commonwealth Games.

Darts are popular in Britain, Canada, Australia and NZ. Not sure if it is the same in other parts of the Commonwealth.

Tbf, with the number of countries the pro darts tour covers these days its basically global now.
