I am not sure how many Aussie swimmers will compete at both Commonwealth Games and Pan Pacs.

At the heart of Sky’s coverage will be a dedicated “Gold Channel” on Sky Sport 4, showcasing the biggest moments from Glasgow each night.

Broadcasting live from 7:30pm to 11am, the Gold Channel will feature key events, replays, highlights, and live crosses to Scotland, supported by a hosted show from Sky Sport’s studio.

Sky will have three additional dedicated Commonwealth Games channels, taking the total live offering to up to nine Sky Sport channels during peak competition windows, with coverage running live overnight.

From 11am each day, Sky Sport channels will transition into replays and highlights, ensuring audiences can relive every key moment.

Three and ThreeNow will become the free-to-air destination for Commonwealth Games coverage throughout the event, including a daily simulcast of the Gold Channel from 7pm through to 6pm the following day.

The schedule will include ThreeNews at 6pm followed by a nightly edition of Crowd Goes Wild at 7pm, before live coverage begins each evening.

Delta Goodrem will perform a homage to Scotland at the closing ceremony. She sang Together We Are One at the Melbourne 2006 opening ceremony, and Welcome to Earth at the Gold Coast 2018 opening ceremony.

Does that include downing Irn Bru and Scotch Whisky (getting insanely drunk in the process), eating haggis and shortbread, wearing a kilt, playing the bagpipes, doing a Highland dance and yelling at, then trying to pick a fight with, a reflection of yourself in the mirror?

also, where’s Frankie Boyle? That’s something the Commonwealth Games could use.

Poll Time - how excited are you for these games

  • Can’t wait
  • Don’t mind it
  • Couldn’t give a stuff

Not wanting to yuck anyone else’s yum, but just can’t get excited - have lost too many key events and no longer mean what they did in the world sphere of the sports that remain.

Agree, no matter how hard Seven have marketed this.

Even Birmingham 2022, despite a clear drop in buzz/interest from Gold Coast 2018 (perhaps obviously) felt bigger than this.

I remember actually quite enjoying that opening, think 7AFL went live into it and the Aussie jogger won gold later that night (their morning) for a nice start.

Seven/CG organisers will be hoping for some early good stories out of the Aussies to generate some early hype. And especially after how well this year’s Winter Olympics was received.
