Wonder if Seven are getting their aviation editor up there now
While a serious story the wording on Nine News’s breaking story on the late news sounded like something The Cheap Seats would use.
“Our cameras were there when police raided the Sydney property where the alleged criminal mastermind lives with his parents”.
It was called an “exclusive story” on the ABC’s 7.30 which will have an extended report tonight.
UPDATE: here is the extended report.
Seven reporting on Sydney aircraft emergency
Update Nine:
Seven showing landing live
Nine started to show the landing but cut away to Tipping Point.
News Corp are reporting that the remaining five members of the Bali Nine arrived back in Australia earlier today.

Nine opened the 5pm news with the story of the remaining member sof the Bali Nie having returned to Australia.
It was the second story on 10’s 5pm news. ABC were a few minutes later.
Seven in Sydney had a news update at 4:11 that carried the news. Melbourne’s update did not have the news.

Another Seven update in Melbourne - still missing the news. Also not mentioned in Brisbane’s update.
Third story on Seven in Adelaide - Attack in shopping centre, and bushfire warnings were first and second respectively.
I noticed Seven and Nine News appear to have severely zoomed / cropped Ten’s exclusive footage from 2005 which had their watermark prominently visible and was the only known recording of the moment Police discovered the drugs on their bodies and has been widely used for the best part of 20 years across networks, for which Alan Raskall’s wife Martine Griffiths won awards for (both were at ATV at the time IIRC)
Should have put a moving watermark through the middle of it - though I don’t think that was really the done thing at that point in time.
Interesting that there is no live media coverage of the Cyclone Tracy 50th anniversary memorial service from Darwin’s East Point on Christmas Day morning (6am to 7.30am ACST or 7.30am to 9am AEDT). Governor-General Sam Mostyn and Prime Minister Anthony Albanese will attend the service.
Hopefully there will be some footage on ABC News channel during the morning.
Reports coming through of a massive warehouse fire in Port Melbourne, right next to the busy West Gate Freeway. The city currently in a heatwave and fire danger warnings as well.
VicEmergency confirms something off Salmon St on the southern side of the freeway (that street is an overpass not an interchange). Social media suggesting Kennards Hire. 7 MFB appliances dispatched. Not under control.
3AW radio’s Brian Wilson saying on X a grass fire that has unfortunately spread. To me looks rather suspicious too.
Reports the freeway has also been shut-down, which would be unprecedented. Google Maps Traffic also confirms, with “road closed” icons (unsure if VicRoads or the public submitting those) and gridlock on all those off ramps near Montague St and the Bolte Bridge, looks like also impacting inbound drivers and local Port Melb roads.
