General News Events - Coverage Discussion

Presumably Sky UK’s coverage?

Sky Australia used their own presenters to talk over the world feed pictures. It had that talentless Danica who shouts and someone else in the studio and they crossed via telephone to some reporter there that you couldn’t hear properly. It was all nonsense.

Sky UK had their own talking heads. Wasn’t that good either.

Good point made here.

Why are older women always called 'grandmothers' in headlines when they could have been retired CEOs, doctors, teachers etc? @janecaro @thischairrocks https://t.co/LbigOtukvN

Referring to:

I also wonder sometimes when someone in the headlines becomes an “Aussie”. It’s a favourite of breakfast TV and especially Yahoo. It doesn’t seem to be just for Australians overseas and on breakfast Tv it usually seems to be the “good guys”. You don’t often get an Aussie murder in the captions.

How did the Australian commercials cover it? Did anyone get into their 6pm? Did it lead?

Hope there weren’t many vehicles on there by being at 1:30am but it’s very reminiscient of the Tasman Bridge disaster in Hobart in 1975 which led to a complete ban on traffic when ships are passing through.

How many times will the footage be shown. One video shows the ship appearing to lose power before the collision which is why it appears backed out in the vision. There is also smoke coming from the ship in close ups.

Seen on-line and CNN: "According to the Baltimore City Fire Department, up to 20 individuals and multiple vehicles have plunged into the river. "

7 Melbourne had a quick report with the video read by the presenter early on. And then crossed to Mylee Hogan about 6:30
