Who do they have over there?
What is the relevance of the relevance to Australia? Thousands of people have died. It’s a big news story.
Anyway, Morocco is a popular tourist spot for Australians, especially Marrakech. It is Intrepid’s #1 most popular tour. And the peak season has started, there would be a lot of relevance to Australia.
I didn’t know that it was a popular spot for Aussies.
All networks breaking into programming in Victoria.
Nine Melbourne had coverage and analysis afterwards until 2:15pm. (Edit now rolling)
Nine and ABC are the only NSW stations to break into programming for Daniel Andrew’s press conference.
Arguably shouldn’t be.
Why is Tony Jones cohosting with Dougal? Bizarre.
He’s running rings around Dougal. I think that explains it.
But why not just have TJ on his own? Optically looks odd
Perhaps Nine thought it was important enough news to Victorian viewers to warrant two presenters to fill out the coverage more?
Sydney only had Mark Burrows, and naturally coverage was shorter as well.
That I’d agree with.
The only way Dougal will build up experience is by presenting coverage like this.
He has been fine alongside Tony Jones.
Probably wanted someone with experience, and Hitch probably doesn’t roll in til 5 o’clock.
9 is providing rolling coverage, where as 7 just had a ‘special’ newsbreak at 3:10pm in addition to earlier presser coverage.
You only need to watch 5 seconds of Dougal to know why. He is hopeless.
7’s 4pm had live interviews with 3 former premiers, the former police minister, the opposition leader and the firefighters union.
Also had live crosses to Nick McCallum at Government House and political editor Sharnelle Vella in the studio.
Was very strong.
9’s 4pm had some replays of their rolling coverage.
