Announcement from 7
Missed the start, but all it was, was a Sydney titlecard with News Flash
Ticker on Channel 9
7 perth live to London with Hugh Whitfield
Seven had a crawler on 7mate (the generic network one, as seen during The Chase and other breaking news), which looked odd.
Does anyone know if the George Pell media blockage succeeded yesterday in court?
Sounds like it - a brief report on Nine last night suggested things that “can’t be discussed due to legal issues”.
The prosecution are obviously worried about something. Perhaps a witness will not testify if things will be discussed in the media.
Apart from all the reporting on the Royal Wedding, I think the most overused phrase this week has been “the power of Mother Nature” when describing the Hawaiian volcanic eruption.

Not sure which thread is the best one to talk about NSW State Budget coverage, but I’m going to run with it here.
The ABC’s 12pm bulletin only had a live cross as their initial coverage:
The coverage wasn’t bad, but I think Nine News managed to do better by having proper overview graphics (which the ABC was lacking):
New Zealand’s Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern and her partner Clarke Gayford have welcomed a baby girl, weighing in at 3.31kg and delivered at 4:45pm local time.
A brief report was made on Newshub Live at 6pm tonight, followed by a live cross to Tova O’Brien outside Auckland City Hospital. Tova also made an appearance on Sunrise this morning.
Was surprised they referenced her as a newshub reporter and on screen, they could have said “The Project NZ correspondent” given she has holding one of their mic flags which I assume is for the NZ version of the show.
Yeah, slightly odd. Tova did crosses for both Newshub at Six and The Project NZ in her position as Newshub Political Editor.
