ABC finished coverage 12:12 am

ABC leave just after Kash shows up.

Forget afterwards, they didn’t even finish!

Let’s see whether it’s a good judgment depending on how falsifying his remarks are.

(Well, he didn’t speak that long. That decision was terrible.)

It was good when it lasted.

ABC now seem to be running PlanAm with a chryon over the top.

There hasn’t been any additional facts about the case provided after the ABC left the coverage.

Thanks ABC for not showing 25 more minutes of that presser.

There was news still being made.

But I guess, night service gotta night service, right?

And finally, Sky end their coverage at 1:00. SNR off to the usual FSN, and presumably 103 heads off to join 604. All that’s left now is to see the approx. 2:42 ABC bulletin to work out when the recording was done.

No, wait, ABC are doing a bonus, unscheduled bulletin right now.

The recording is being done right now, probably.

The scheduling was a bit all over the place tonight after my initial praises.

Maybe they’ll do a 13FM TV and just loop this the whole night? Would be a hell of a lot better than the usual DW garbage. Seems like they’re rerunning the whole conference as well.

No, they drop out of the rerun after Patel finished speaking. Basically just slightly longer than what was taken live.

And the persistent super makes a return.

Not exactly slick programming, is it?

I mean, we should just be greatful they didn’t go straight off to beddy-byes like normal.

And we’re back on schedule with Close of Business at 1:30, with an updated ticker. That bulletin may have been live as Tetlow mentioned he was in Perth and onselled Weekend News Breakfast. Problem is now, that bulletin does not fit into the 15 minute slot at 2:45, as it was just under 30 minutes long.

Just in case somebody cares, the 2:42 bulletin was a repeat of the midnight bulletin, including the original interruption to join the press conference, but minus the stuck on chryon.

And proven. Meanwhile other channels will continue rolling all Saturday long.

Nine actually had it during Today Early News. Probably around 5:15 roughly.

The news cycle never stops, even in weekend.

Tonight’s biggest story is the far-right “Unite the Kingdom” rally taking place in central London. 110,000 are (expected to be) there.

Clashes have been recorded with police and counterprotesters. Everything is slowly getting more violent.

Sky UK has been almost all over this for a good four hours, but could only get the first live pictures from the scene around 11.40pm AEST.

103 will be all over this too in simulcast hours.

Worth keeping an eye on in Australia as well.

And ABC will only be covering it for 60 seconds in total untill 7am, because DW are only giving it 15 seconds per bulletin, believing people want to hear about fucking wetlands in El Salvador instead. (Seriously. That takes up nearly 5 of the 15 minutes the program goes for.)

Tonight’s biggest story.

Although I’m okay with extensive coverage being limited to 604. We can live with a 2-minute report on other networks.

Oddly, the one channel you’d think would be all over this, FSN, has not mentioned it once. Of course, they probably have an ABC-style nachtprogram, but still…
