General News Events - Coverage Discussion

Did they hear our complaints?

Or is it because the 11pm bulletin is the last live one of the day, and the night service kicks in after that?

I’ll give them props for the effort.

Late News ended at 11:27pm. Updates throughout the night.

The Breakfast Couch airing at 11:30.

The ABC pre-empted this and may not show it? Unless they are just waiting until someone from the FBI actually starts talking and then will show it? No point showing an empty podium..?

No point showing an empty podium..?

You could watch Sky

According to what was said at the closer, this would be the case. Still a strange decision to go to a filler program that will be pre-empted in about five minutes.

None of the main US nets are rolling yet either, only the cablers.

Guessing ABC might do a live midnight bulletin if we have the usual half hour delay? And will SNR and the Samsung feed stay with Sky if it doesn’t start before 12?

I take it as repeat of the 11pm bulletin but the Kirk segment will be aired live and subsequently replaced in later re-airs as details flow in.

It’s like producing a newscast for Perth or U.S. West.

Sky are going to a break.

ABC has done the right thing by putting up a filler program.

The way this is going, I’m giving it a 12.15am start time.

Probably scheduled by the same team which scheduled Trump’s “massive announcement” presser a week or so ago, ain’t it?

But will ABC stick with it? They have PlanAm encore starting at 12:15.
Edit: The pool feed camera is moving around. We may be about to begin.

Yes, they will. Unlike most other news nets that are somewhat uncomfortably ad-libbing, ABC is choosing to go with the normal flow.

I expect them to crash out of that whenever someone is at podium to speak.

SNR is remaining with Sky past 12. WNYW have switched to FNC. CBS and NBC have also jumped, ABCUS have not.

CNN: “Truly major breaking news” - not like the other types

We’re underway. If it was delayed this long, the details better be explosive.

ABC are taking it as promised.

12.05am, and are now showing it.

So proud of you, ABC!

The question is, now, how long do they stay on afterwards, and what happens at approx 2:42 with the next local bulletin.
