Curious if anyone has ever connected a HDMI splitter to an iq5 box? Is it capable of sending a signal to two screens or am I likely to have trouble with the hdmi copy protection?
I must have been on some special offer as Foxtel messaged me to say the discount is coming off. I’m now at $52 for the basic basic package. That sounds very high to me.
Guess I’ll be ringing up to try and cancel this week.
Are you on the older basic package or the newer one? Some customers who were on the older package are still on it, and when they want to add or remove channel packages, they see the older add-on packages rather than the newer ones. In the end, if you add all packages you get all channels, they’re just divided up differently.
The current basic package is Foxtel Plus and has around 50 Foxtel channels.
The older basic package was Entertainment. It cost $29 and had less channels, with other packages that could be added like Drama for $20, or Entertainment Plus and Docos for $10 each.
I once had a HDMI splitter setup connected to a IQ4 around 2020-2021. From what I can remember, it worked fine sending the signal to multiple screens.
Don’t know if anything has changed since then (unlikely though).
I had an iQ4 (until August last year) and was able to split the signal without much trouble- I had one going to an AV sender to another room and the other to the TV. The only thing that played up was 4K which would be hit and miss as it would detect the splitter as being non-4K compatible.
Calling to cancel my Foxtel. Currently at 15 mins wait. Wonder how long they’ll keep me waiting hoping ill just hang up
Interesting they’ve also moved away from the Mike Hammond IVR voice and have a generic one now. Also, no more ‘in a few words tell me why you’re calling’ and rather number prompts.
They’re a joke. For over a year I kept ringing them to ask if they could give my grandparents a discount - they’d been paying $39p/m for many years until a few years ago when they slowly increased it until it hit $54p/m in November.
Grandma was complaining about the lack of new content to watch on it, so she decided it was time to disconnect.
And typical… when I ring to discount they ask “if we give it to you for $39p/m would you stay?”. Fk off.
This is exactly what has happened to me with the price increase.
I only have it for West Coast AFL games so this year will do Kayo instead.
Get a team digital membership, it’s cheaper.
7flix and 7Bravo linear chanels and the 7+ app have been added to Foxtel today.
7Flix has been on Foxtel since inception & Bravo has been on for 1-2 months already…
Streaming versions of 7’s FTA channels also integrated into the TV guide. Will probably still have the sports blackouts where Foxtel has the streaming rights.
wonder when 9Rush and 9Now will be added
Means I can now remove the 7SD channels from foxtel especially ch 107 and use IP instead
9Now is the app and has been on the iQ4/5 for quite some time.
Not for me. I can only choose to view the channels via FTA.
Finally.
Does anyone actually read these threads before posting these days? lols
