I agree with this but I still think the rate things improve now, I’ve you were to suddenly get Foxtel Sat probably isn’t needed as much assuming your internet is up to it.
I’m not too sure what you mean by this But I’m using Kayo and the delay is about 15 seconds but I can get it down to 7 seconds. It’s not like when it first came out and it would cut out then you would have a lag of 30 seconds. It’s alot better now but it just depends on a lot of factors.
I would agree with you on this though some people do still have bad experiences with it. Thankfully I don’t.
With MTV and Nickelodeon both leaving Foxtel where dose this leave the Foxtel music channels given they are now all MTV and Nickelodeon apart from one of them.
I don’t think the music channels are going (yet), they aren’t mentioned on Foxtel’s website. Although it does bring into question Foxtel’s decision to throw all their music eggs in Paramount’s basket.
This is exactly why the first thing I did was to get a Fetch PVR. I can do everything I did with the IQ4. The only downside is that its max RR/FF is a max of x32 but I’m sure they could adust this with an update.
So just to confirm this, does this mean the two MTV music channels are now gone but the audio channels are staying? If this is right it basically means Foxtel will now only have Nick music as a Music channel (unless thats already gone) then they only other one is a country music channel.
They could have handled this whole thing a lot better though. Yes linear channels are dying but they could have realised this 5+ years ago and dealt with it. Rather than playing catch up like they are now.
Fair enough that linear is dying but with less content they should be reducing their ridiculous pricing. Their content proposition is atrocious. They’ve blown their brains out retaining sports rights for nothing else.
Oh yeah, the value proposition of Foxtel will become untenable for most people or new subscribers given the choice of content available nowadays.
Don’t forget also that Foxtel would’ve spent big on integrating 4 of the largest streaming apps in the world into their service, they must be generating revenue through this to support the outlay in doing that.
Their diversified revenue streams must be doing them wonders, I doubt the channels they’re losing will move the needle much for them either way.
Now that the Kids pack is down to 3 channels they should probably merge that in with the base pack or favourites (which I think has also lost a few channels along the way). They probably should’ve done it when they uped the price at the start of the month really.
Actually, you can get most of the channels in the favourites pack (only excluding Investigation Discovery, Discovery Turbo and Fox Sci Fi for some reason) and all the one’s left in the kids pack on Binge for $10 a month anyway rather than the $25 Foxtel would charge you (on top of the base pack).
