Not to mention you run more streams at far less cost including HD and 4K. Satélite infrastructure is far too costly and harder to handle.
The IQ4 is only a satellite set top unit and is not available in all homes especially in MDUs and flats
and somewhere satellite is impossible to install because of landlords/ladies not allowing it
MDU’s only have access to IQ2/IQ3 as well as the Foxtel Now box
So, … what your saying is, that they have to compete with Optus again???
(The whole Fetch box thing.)
well, my landlord is a university. and after the deal with NBN* I am not even game to ask about getting Foxtel out on
- we got NBN but because it was fttp we had to get permission from the uni which we got but the NBN box had to be put in a certain way and position *
its interesting Foxtel employees are denying it’s even excited or even coming
Details are likely still under embargo for them to discuss with the public, Channelnews likely has someone internally leaking it.

this is from foxtel media .:
on average accross ocasions audiences watching foxtel are 27% more engaged then those watching fta
and foxtel new deffintions of engangment :intent mental focus, emotional investment and social connection
Probably because FOX have 27% fewer commercials!
And 52% more nuts, 82% more testosterone, and 95% more ibuprofen.
You clearly haven’t watched Foxtel for a while then. Their ad inventory is comparable to Freeview.
I do have FOXTEL, I think when you average it out including the movie and sports channels that generally have fewer ads, on the whole it is less.
I don’t know where they are getting this statistic from. They are a PAID SUBSCRIPTION just like Netflix and Stan and STILL HAVE ADS. Maybe if they wanted “100% as they claim” then remove ads. Nobody wants to pay for something and STILL HAVE ADS.
I agree, although I now steam most shows on Foxtel as then there are no ads.
I only watch the live channels on Foxtel in the background, when I am working or doing housework.
Their rationale is that having some ads provides for more channels.
I guess it’s finding that balance between content. / numbers of channels, ad levels and paid subscriber numbers to keep it profitable.
