BINGE, DAZN’s entertainment streaming platform, today announced that production has commenced in Sydney on Tough Love, a new Australian original comedy series about a family confronting the possibility of life without their mother and three very unprepared children.

Created by and starring Rick Donald (Population 11, Educators), Tough Love also stars acclaimed Australian actress Miranda Otto (The Lord Of The Rings, Talk To Me) as Kerry Hart, mother to 39-year-old Shane played by Donald, Liz Kingsman (F1: The Movie, Project Hail Mary) as daughter Steph, Hugo Johnston-Burt (Miss Fisher’s Murder Mysteries, Return To Paradise) as middle son Rodney, and Jay Ryan (North of North, Territory) as Steph’s partner Mick.

The series will be directed by Trent O’Donnell (Hacks, Sunny Nights) and Madeleine Dyer (Ghosts Australia), the directing team behind the award-winning BINGE Original Colin from Accounts.

Set within the chaos of a suburban Australian family, Tough Love follows Kerry as she receives a cancer diagnosis. Her immediate crisis isn’t her own mortality: it’s the terrifying realisation that all her adult children are totally incapable of surviving the world without her. Through the chaos, Tough Love explores the complicated bonds of family, the fear of losing someone you love and the messy, often hilarious struggle to become self-sufficient.

Rick Donald, Creator, Writer and Actor, said:Tough Love draws on my observations of family, and the strange, funny and often difficult ways we look after the people we love. I wanted to explore what happens when a family is forced to confront something they’d rather not think about, while finding the humour in the chaos along the way.

Hamish Lewis, Head of Scripted, Warner Bros. International Television Production Australia, said: “Rick Donald has built a world that is dangerously edgy, funny, honest and full of heart, alongside a brilliant cast that have decided to join us to bring these complicated characters to life. We are stoked to be working with BINGE, Screen Australia, Screen NSW and FOX Entertainment Global on the series and can’t wait to bring it to screens soon.”

Foxtel Group Executive Director, Entertainment Content, Daniel Monaghan, said:Tough Love continues BINGE and DAZN’s commitment to delivering distinctive, premium Australian comedy, following the success of originals like Colin from Accounts. We were immediately drawn to Rick Donald’s sharp, heartfelt comedy about the messiness of family and being forced to grow up. With an outstanding cast led by Miranda Otto, Tough Love upholds our investment in authentic local storytelling, supported by our strong partnership with Warner Bros. International Television Production Australia, Screen NSW and Screen Australia."

Screen Australia Director of Narrative Content, Louise Gough, said: “Trent O’Donnell and Madeleine Dyer have a remarkable ability to find humour and heart in life’s most complicated moments. Combined with Rick Donald’s sharply funny writing, Tough Love captures the chaos of family life with brutal honesty and wit. The series explores universal themes of love, loss, dependence and resilience that will resonate with audiences not just in Australia, but around the world.”

Screen NSW Executive Director, Kylie Munnich, said: “Screen NSW is proud to support Tough Love, which promises to be a fresh, original series that navigates the weight of a cancer diagnosis and suburban family dysfunction with real humour. I’m thrilled to welcome Tough Love to NSW, with filming taking place across Sydney. I look forward to the eight-part series joining an exciting slate of Australian projects available on BINGE, including The Twelve and Colin from Accounts.”

BINGE, DAZN’s entertainment streaming platform, today announced the highly anticipated return of the iconic reality series The Real Housewives of Melbourne with fan favourite Gina Liano confirmed to return for Season 6, with production beginning in 2027 and further cast announcements to be revealed in the coming months.

First launched in 2014, The Real Housewives of Melbourne became one of Australia’s most iconic reality series, delivering the glamour, humour, friendships and feuds that made the series a firm fan favourite. The series went on to become the most-watched reality show in Foxtel’s history, cementing its place as one of Australia’s most successful and talked-about reality franchises.

Gina Liano said: “It’s been a while between drinks, but some things are worth waiting for. I am delighted to be returning for the new season of The Real Housewives of Melbourne. I’ve missed the glamour, the fabulous women and, of course, the drama. I’m looking forward to seeing some familiar faces, meeting some new ones and getting back to what we do best - having a good time, looking fabulous and causing a little trouble along the way.”

Foxtel Group Executive Director, Entertainment Content, Daniel Monaghan said: “The speculation can finally end – we’re delivering what fans have been asking for, with Gina Liano returning to The Real Housewives of Melbourne. And while Gina’s return is just the beginning, we’ve got plenty more fabulous new and returning faces still to reveal. The Housewives are back, Melbourne, and we can’t wait to see what unfolds.”

Helen Kruger Bratt, Managing Director, UTAS UK added: “The Real Housewives of Melbourne has one of the most passionate fan bases out there, and it’s easy to see why - this is an iconic cast who bring something truly special to the screen. We’re delighted to be working alongside our partners at ITV Studios Australia and Foxtel to bring the show back, and we can’t wait for audiences to fall in love with it all over again.”

Beth Hart, Chief Content Officer, ITV Studios Australia said:The Real Housewives of Melbourne is reality television at its absolute best - glamorous, outrageous, brilliantly funny and completely unpredictable. We’re incredibly excited to bring this iconic franchise back and introduce audiences to a new chapter that feels unmistakably Melbourne. Our ambition is to deliver everything fans have loved about the series, while opening the door to fabulous new friendships and stories. With Gina back at the heart of the action, some exciting surprises still to come and a city that provides the most spectacular playground imaginable, we can’t wait to get started.”

The new season will be an exciting co-production between ITV Studios Australia (Love Island Australia, The Voice) and Universal Television Alternative Studio UK Productions (UTAS UK), which is part of Universal Studio Group, the award-winning UK production company behind SNL UK, The Real Housewives of London, The Real Housewives of Cheshire and Made in Chelsea, bringing together local production expertise with extensive experience producing some of the world’s most successful reality franchises.

The one-hour unscripted format will follow the glamorous, ambitious and often chaotic lives of a group of women navigating Melbourne’s high society, capturing their friendships, families, businesses and personal rivalries as relationships are forged, tested and fractured both on and off camera.

Season 6 will deliver a high-octane, culturally relevant and unapologetically entertaining new chapter, reconnecting with the loyal fanbase while introducing The Real Housewives of Melbourne to a new generation.

The Real Housewives of Melbourne continues BINGE’s and DAZN’s commitment to delivering premium Australian content that resonates globally, and shines a spotlight on Australian culture, landscapes and stories.

Wentworth

Sophie Lowe Also Joins The Ensemble As Filming Continues In Melbourne

BINGE, DAZN’s entertainment streaming platform, today revealed new cast members for its highly anticipated Australian original drama series Wentworth: Halfway Home, with Rachel Griffiths (Total Control, Six Feet Under) and Sophie Lowe (Beautiful Kate, Blow The Man Down) as part of the ensemble alongside returning fan favourites Susan ‘Boomer’ Jenkins (Katrina Milosevic), Franky Doyle (Nicole da Silva) and Lou Kelly (Kate Box).

Griffiths will play Moira, a glamorous new resident at Sal’s Halfway House. Convicted of fraud and paroled after serving three years of a five-year sentence, Moira traded a career in beauty therapy for a whirlwind second marriage into high society, living a life of penthouses and champagne before her husband’s death exposed their fortune as an elaborate house of cards. Blackmailer, loan shark, seductress, the residents of Sal’s Halfway House have no idea what they are in for.

Also, joining the cast is Sophie Lowe who plays Sam, a people-pleasing former stalker, now on parole after obsession over a broken relationship led to a break-in and assault, who’s found stability at Sal’s but harbors a vengeful streak beneath her eagerness to please. These new announcements join Alex King, who plays Dee and Chenile Chandler, who plays Lily as they form the new blood of Wentworth: Halfway Home and characters stepping into a world its most-loved originals still call home.

Rachel Griffiths said of joining the cast “Moira is a delicious character to bring to life and is going shake things up at the house. I am so excited to be working with such an amazing group of actors and creatives and being part of the iconic Wentworth world is going to be a lot of fun.”

Daniel Monaghan, Foxtel Group Executive Director, Entertainment Content, said: “Rachel Griffiths joining the cast of Wentworth: Halfway Home is a huge coup for the series. She brings extraordinary depth and screen presence to every role she takes on, and Moira is going to be a character audiences love to hate. This new chapter honours everything that made Wentworth such a phenomenon while pushing the world in bold new directions, and we can’t wait for audiences to meet the new faces alongside the fan-favourites they’ve followed for years.”

Production on Wentworth: Halfway Home is currently underway in Melbourne. Freshly paroled, Boomer arrives at Sal’s Halfway House determined to get custody of her daughter and build a life for them both. But when a body turns up, who can she trust in a home full of ex-cons? Getting out of prison was hard, but staying out may prove impossible.

Wentworth, a Fremantle production that premiered in 2013 on FOXTEL, reimagined the landmark series Prisoner and became a defining moment in Australian television, screening in over 170 territories worldwide across eight seasons.

Excellent.

Great cast but do we really need to see a semi-naked Rick Donald, looking like a long-haired, bearded, unkempt slob again?

DAZN Media+ takes the global stage as Foxtel Media’s next chapter

DAZN rebrands its innovative Australian advertising arm

DAZN Media+, the innovative advertising arm formerly known as Foxtel Media, today unveiled its new brand at the company’s 2027 Upfronts - the debut media event at The Cutaway, Barangaroo’s recently reopened cultural and event destination.

The rebrand follows DAZN’s acquisition of the Foxtel Group in 2025. Operating in more than 200 markets, DAZN is the world’s leading sports streaming platform reaching 300 million viewers globally and delivering more than 90,000 live events each year.

The identity signals a new era for DAZN Media+ in a rapidly evolving media landscape. Building on Foxtel Media’s established Australian presence, DAZN Media+ represents the advertising interests of Kayo SPORTS, BINGE, Foxtel and Foxtel Go. Backed by DAZN’s global scale, market-leading technology and investment in sports-entertainment innovation, it gives brands more effective ways to connect with premium audiences in the moments that matter.

Mark Frain, CEO, DAZN Media+, said: “DAZN Media+ isn’t just a new name - it’s a declaration of what we can now offer brands across Australia. We are closer to the action than ever before: from where we point the cameras, to the stadiums where the action unfolds, to the creators who extend the conversation beyond the final whistle.

“Since joining the DAZN family, we’ve accelerated innovation at an unprecedented pace. DAZN Media+ gives brands more opportunities to be part of those defining moments through cutting-edge formats, expanded capabilities and stronger connections with audiences.

“We will continue to serve our partners, brands and agencies with the same passion and commitment, now backed by smarter tools and a more powerful global ecosystem. It’s the same team, with even more to offer - and we’re only just getting started.”

The new DAZN Media+ logo and brand architecture was designed by DAZN’s in-house Australian creative team, BALBOA. By combining massive scale with precision-led advertiser tools, DAZN Media+ provides brands with unprecedented access to the moments, conversations and experiences shaping modern culture.

DAZN in Australia is the biggest non-government funder of sport, contributing over $1B a year in sports rights and production. This investment helps drive community participation and powers live and on-demand coverage of more than 50 sports,

across major national and international codes including AFL, NRL, Cricket, Formula 1, Supercars, NBA, and NFL. BINGE also hosts the best in local and international entertainment, with the most extensive collection from the world’s best creators including NBCU, FX, A24, BBC and Sony.

DAZN Media+ unveils Sports Audience Graph

Transforming fan intelligence into measurable commercial outcomes

DAZN Media+ has unveiled Sports Audience Graph, a multi-sports fan database based on real behaviour from six million first-party data sports fans, built since Kayo SPORTS’ 2018 launch.

Announced at DAZN Media+'s Upfront at The Cutaway, the solution matches club members and Kayo SPORTS viewers against verified transaction data, and integrates demographic information, brand affinity and sports viewing behaviour. Purpose built to support planning, activation and measurement, it offers the richest insights available to date on Australian sports fans.

For advertisers, this means moving beyond broad demographics to precision targeting - knowing where a code’s most engaged supporters live, when they’re most receptive, the viewing environments they prefer, and the interests driving their purchases. Brands can then reach these audiences directly across Kayo SPORTS, BINGE and Foxtel, and measure campaigns against sales uplift rather than reach and recall alone - linking media investment to genuine purchasing behaviour.

Nev Hasan, Chief Sales Officer, DAZN Media+ commented, "The Australian sports ecosystem is data-rich but insight-poor. With Sports Audience Graph, brands can finally connect the dots and tell the bigger story, using the wealth of data from clubs, codes, ticketing platforms and retailers.

“We’ve seen through our work with CommBank iQ how connecting premium audiences with purchasing behaviour can help advertisers understand how their investments translate into outcomes. Sports Audience Graph builds on this. By bringing these signals together in a privacy-safe way, marketers can move beyond demographics to understand the real behaviours and passions of their audience - driving more relevant campaigns, more effective media investment and stronger commercial outcomes for brands, rights-holders and fans alike,” Hasan said.

The Sports Audience Graph also enhances the commercial value of fan data for codes and clubs, helping them grow sponsorship revenue and deepen fan engagement. It provides a clearer view of audience affinity - distinguishing fanatics, fans and followers - as well as where supporters are watching from, enabling clubs and codes to identify and reach audiences beyond their local markets. Paired with CommBank iQ, it also reveals the categories and brands their fans engage with most, informing sponsorship and partnership strategies to deliver stronger return on investment.

DAZN Media+ continues to extend partner access beyond live sport broadcasts, becoming the most valuable partner for brands in helping them connect to fans in defining moments.

Sports Audience Graph will be available for DAZN Media+ agency and brand partners from 2027.

DAZN Media+ launches Club Kayo, bringing brands into the heart of Australian sports fandom

New creator-powered ecosystem connects brands with fans year-round across AFL, NRL, Cricket and Motorsport

DAZN Media+ is taking sports fandom beyond the live broadcast with the launch of Club Kayo, a new creator-powered sports media ecosystem designed to put creators, communities and brands at the heart of Australia’s biggest sporting conversations.

The ecosystem kicks off with four dedicated creator teams: Club Kayo Cricket, Club Kayo AFL, Club Kayo NRL and Club Kayo Motorsport. Each team will be retained across the season, developing distinctive, repeatable weekly formats and building familiarity with audiences over time, rather than relying on individual, campaign-based creator activations. The dedicated creator squads will react to the biggest moments as they happen, sitting at the intersection of sport, entertainment and pop culture.

The launch reflects how modern fans engage with the games they love. They don’t just watch matches; they react, debate, remix, share and create. DAZN’s global fan study found that 81% of hyper-engaged fans want to feel part of sport beyond spectating.

With 67% of sports fans globally seeing creators as a critical part of sports culture, Club Kayo is built to meet this demand - bringing creator voices into the Kayo SPORTS ecosystem, combining their authenticity with the rights, vision and broadcast access only Australia’s largest sports broadcaster can provide.

Ted Helliar, Director of Engagement, Community & Fandom - Kayo and FOX SPORTS said, “Club Kayo brings together an unrivalled network of creators and their communities to help shape Australian sports fandom, giving them a sustained role alongside the sports they are passionate about.

“Through dedicated teams and repeatable formats, creators can build deeper connections with fans across the season, while tapping into the sporting moments, expertise and platform environment of Kayo SPORTS. It is designed to give their communities more reasons to come together, contribute and stay connected to the codes they love.”

Club Kayo creates new ways for brands to engage fans beyond the live event, with creator-led formats across major codes tailored to different brand objectives and investment levels.

Toby Dewar, Director of Customer Engagement, DAZN Media+ added, “For brands, Club Kayo creates a credible way to build a meaningful presence within sports culture, whether they are extending an existing sports investment or entering the category for the first time. With 74% of hyper-engaged fans saying they feel more connected to brands that add to the entertainment of sport, there is a clear opportunity for advertisers to contribute value in the moments around the game.

“Importantly, this is not a one-off creator activation model. Club Kayo provides an always-on ecosystem that can help brands build relevance over time, with the scale, premium environment and audience intelligence of Kayo SPORTS behind it. The result is more ways for advertisers to earn attention and deliver value to fans across the sporting calendar.”

Building on the global success of creator-powered sports initiatives including DAZN48 around the FIFA World Cup, the launch brings this approach to Australia’s leading sports codes. DAZN Media+ continues to expand its role in the sports ecosystem - from owning the live moment to building what happens around it: the conversation, the community, the culture and the fandom.

DAZN Media+ extends sports advertising offering with SureVision

Connecting the live sporting experience, from venue to viewing

DAZN Media+ is partnering with premier sporting screen technology company SureVision to bring brands into the nucleus of live sport with in-stadium, on-the-ground advertising.

SureVision represents some of the most premium on-ground advertising inventory in Australian sport, from the iconic Gabba stadium to 4 Pines Park, the home of the Manly Sea Eagles. Effective immediately, DAZN Media+ is the principal partner for SureVision’s in-stadium assets in 2027, including perimeter ribbon signage, scoreboards and wayfinding.

The collaboration will see DAZN Media+ offer brands a single-entry point into the sports ecosystem, connecting broadcast advertising, in-program integration, social media and, now, in-stadium opportunities. By bringing broadcast and stadium media closer together, DAZN Media+ can help extend the impact of on-ground signage beyond the stands - through the live moments, replays and conversations that engage fans wherever they watch.

Mark Frain, CEO, DAZN Media+ commented: “As the last mass-scale cultural connector and the last stronghold of appointment viewing, sports is the most valuable commercial environment in Australia - yet not every brief includes sport. This partnership extends DAZN Media+’s reach to on-the-ground advertising, empowering brands to embrace sports by providing more ways to reach Australians in the moments that matter.

“From the cameras that capture every moment, to the stadiums where it unfolds, we’re closer to the sporting experience and where the live action takes place. The future will belong to the brands and agencies that can surround the fan completely: connecting the spectator journey, amplifying every electric moment and being part of every conversation.

“Brands want ecosystems, not isolated assets, and this partnership is the first of many for DAZN Media+ as we help embed brands at the heart of the action, on the field, in the broadcast and beyond.” he added.

Consultation with clubs, codes and brands highlighted how fragmented sports advertising can be. By bringing broadcast, digital and stadium assets closer together, DAZN Media+ is making it easier for brands to invest in sport and for rights holders to maximise the value of their inventory.

Nicholas Ebbeck, CEO, SureVision commented: “Our stadium network puts brands in front of highly engaged fans in some of Australia’s most recognisable and frequented sporting venues. We’re delighted to partner with DAZN Media+ to unlock the power of our best-in-class stadium display networks and bring more brands to the table to support our Australian sports teams and codes, making it simpler to build a truly connected sports presence.”

So Fox Sports becomes Kayo Sports? Like Fox League becomes Kayo League and so on?

Also, are they eventually getting rid of the Foxtel brand? Feels a bit like the whole Nine/WIN Network/NBN News mess…

DAZN Media+ launches AI-powered agentic trading to revolutionise premium video buying

Giving advertisers and agencies faster, more direct access to inventory, pricing and live campaign data.

DAZN Media+ is entering the next evolution of media trading, introducing an AI-powered Sales Agent designed to make it faster and easier for advertisers and agencies to discover, evaluate and transact premium video inventory.

The agentic solution will enable advertisers, agencies and technology partners with buyer agents to connect directly with DAZN Media+ inventory through global and local industry standards. The agentic solution will be built agnostically, providing our partners direct access to its catalogue, pricing and data.

The Sales Agent streamlines the transaction process across the media buying journey, from discovering live inventory and refining proposals to confirming buys and querying live campaign performance. Buyer agents can access available formats, dayparts, audiences and pricing, while structured exchanges enable proposals to be refined without lengthy email negotiations.

Nev Hasan, Chief Sales Officer, DAZN Media+ said: “The way media is bought is evolving, and we want to make sure DAZN Media+ remains easy to discover, easy to access and easy to transact with as our clients’ technology and workflows develop.

“This is not about replacing the relationships and expertise that sit behind great media buying. It is about harnessing AI to give buyers and our sales teams better, faster access to the information they need, streamlining buying workflows and creating a more seamless way to transact. In doing so, it frees up more time for the work no tool can replicate - building relationships, developing strategy and solving client business challenges together.

For media buyers, the solution is designed to optimise and simplify working with DAZN Media+. From faster discovery of relevant premium inventory and accessing timely, structured information, to supporting more efficient planning, buying and reporting with less manual administration.

The AI-powered endpoint will go live in 2027, giving advertisers and agencies a new way to access and transact on premium video inventory while keeping human expertise and relationships at the centre of media buying.

DAZN Media+ partners with AudienceProject for independent cross-media audience measurement

Advertisers will gain a single view of campaign reach and frequency, including incremental reach across DAZN Media+’s premium video ecosystem from 2027

DAZN Media+ has partnered with AudienceProject, a leading provider of independent cross-media measurement, to introduce unified cross-media audience measurement across its premium video ecosystem. The partnership will provide advertisers with a consistent view of campaign reach and frequency across Kayo SPORTS, BINGE, Foxtel Go and linear TV.

The agreement follows the recent announcement of a collaboration between the Video Futures Collective (VFC) and AudienceProject to bring independent cross-media measurement to Australia. As a founding VFC member, DAZN Media+ has entered its own commercial agreement with AudienceProject to deliver consistent, independently measured reporting for its advertising partners.

Combining census-level campaign delivery data from across DAZN Media+’s platforms with AudienceProject’s independent audience panel, the initiative enables advertisers to understand campaign demographics, co-viewing, reach and frequency, and overlap across platforms using a single and consistent measurement methodology.

The solution will also enable advertisers to measure the incremental reach delivered by individual platforms, including the additional audiences reached through Kayo SPORTS and BINGE beyond linear TV. This will provide advertisers and agencies with greater visibility into the total reach of an integrated linear and streaming campaign, supporting better-informed media planning and investment decisions.

Nev Hasan, Chief Sales Officer, DAZN Media+, said: “Our cross-platform testing has shown the role streaming can play in extending campaign reach, with previous analysis identifying that streaming added 36% reach to AFL and 27% to NRL campaigns. Now, with AudienceProject, we can take that principle from a test environment into a consistent cross-media solution across our entire premium video ecosystem.

“From 2027, for the first time, we’ll be able to independently demonstrate the true scale and unique reach of our combined assets through a globally recognised measurement platform. Advertisers will have a clearer view of the audiences Kayo SPORTS, BINGE, Foxtel Now and Foxtel Go deliver alongside linear TV, including the incremental value each platform contributes. That shifts the focus from where an audience is watching to the real value each platform contributes, enabling smarter planning, more effective investment and better outcomes across total TV.”

Thomas Gregers Honoré, CEO, AudienceProject, said: “AudienceProject has been working with leading media owners and advertisers globally to address the growing need for independent cross-media measurement that reflects today’s increasingly complex media environment. Bringing that experience to Australia is an important next step for the market, and our work with DAZN Media+ will help accelerate the adoption of more robust, comparable measurement as streaming continues to grow.”

AudienceProject’s measurement solution will be available to DAZN Media+ clients from 2027, giving advertisers an independent and comparable basis for evaluating campaign performance across DAZN Media+ platforms.

About AudienceProject
