There is a 8-page Super Netball season guide inside News Corp papers today.
Whoops, wrong team!
So unfair
Netball Australia confirmed this afternoon that the Super Netball grand final would be held in Perth as a Sunday twilight match.
I would say watch this space. A very hostile reaction from the netball community.
Fixture for the first week of 2022 Suncorp Super Netball finals has been released.
Edit 19/6:
West Coast Fever have advanced to the grand final, while Melbourne Vixens will face GWS Giants in the preliminary final.
West Coast Fever will host Melbourne Vixens in next Sunday’s Suncorp Super Netball grand final in Perth, after the Vixens had a one-point win over GWS Giants in the preliminary final last night.
The Constellation Cup and England Series will mark 1088 days since the Diamonds last played on home soil – before Stacey Marinkovich was appointed head coach – with the last international fixture the 2019 Constellation Cup.
The Diamonds will travel to New Zealand for the opening two matches of the Constellation Cup, before hosting the Silver Ferns in Australia on Wednesday 19 October and Sunday 23 October.
The Diamonds will then take on England Netball’s Vitality Roses in a three-match series on Wednesday 26 October, Sunday 30 October and Thursday 3 November.
The international fixtures will be broadcast live and exclusively in Australia on Fox Sports, available through Foxtel and Kayo Freebies.
In a historic first the incredible talent within the men’s squad will also be on display with the Australian men’s team scheduled to play two curtain raisers at home.
The first against New Zealand in Melbourne on October 19 and then against the England men’s team in Sydney on October 30.
The Aussie men will also take on New Zealand’s men’s team in Auckland on October 12.
Tickets to the Diamonds matches in Sydney and Melbourne will include access to the men’s curtain raisers at home.
The international fixtures, including both men’s matches in Australia, will be broadcast live and exclusively in Australia on Fox Sports, available through Foxtel and Kayo.
This added mens netball coverage is with the aim of netball being at the 2032 Olympics. To be there, there needs to be a format for both men and women
Everyone else is looking for everyone to be in their sport, why netball is still 1) two separate governing bodies and 2) still not being promoted like women’s sport for “men’s” leagues is beyond me.
Kayo Freebies will stream the inaugural Australian Netball Championships, which will be held at Traralgon in Victoria’s south-east next week. The new pathway competition replaces the former Australian Netball League.
Great news for the 4 people who are aware of kayo freebies or that it even exists.
So there is no “second division” anymore?
Some of the teams involved like Tasmania, Victoria Fury and Capital Darters (Canberra) are “second division” teams.
