Foxtel 4K

Glad there’s a Fox Sports 4K channel meaning cricket in 4K this summer

With Disney Movies and Family Movies being merged and both Disney channels being removed in the future, does this mean Nine can finally launch an FTA Disney channel, complete with being HD?

Does anyone know whether Foxtel will finally add 4K movies to its on demand and store libraries when these new 4K channels launch?

It’s not a merger. Disney Movies is going because their licensing agreement with Foxtel is up; expect most of their content to shift to Disney+, not Nine (or Stan)

The final program on Foxtel 4K channel 444 before its shutdown will be the replay of US Formula 1 Grand Prix from Texas.

Someone hasn’t done the EPG properly:

yep thought as much HD movies upscalled to 4K,see it on my Sony OLED TV very clearly!

According to Foxtel’s online guide, the women’s soccer friendly between Australia and Chile from Parramatta this Saturday will also be shown in 4K (channel 508), but the second match next Tuesday in Adelaide will not. Go figure.

On Twitter, Trevor Long’s snap of the screen looks good! Usually a photo of a flat screen doesn’t look that good.

Haven’t put a finger on it but the F1 & Soccer from overseas seems better resolution on 4K than Foxtel own 4K transmission e.g. Cricket,AFL etc

I’ve been watching the Test series, T20 and the BBL in 4K this summer and it has looked good on my own 55" Sony TV we purchased back in December 2017. Also caught the Abu Dhabi GP

I’m looking at it from a Sony A9G OLED TV and the difference stands out, maybe its a bandwidth issue!!

Looks like the F1 will not be in 4K this year, what’s the point Foxtel having 4K channels if you don’t make use of them?

Is it being produced in 4K though?

Not much point showing upscaled content on the 4K channel.
