According to the Daily Telegraph, Tara Rushton will be staying with Fox Sports despite the network losing the rights to Australian football. She’ll present the network’s netball coverage when the new rights deal begins next year.

She’ll probably also be involved in League and Fight coverage.

Big loss to Football.

Fox Sports News on Kayo now playing Sky News technical difficulties slides (I.e. A world weather map fly through and a voiceover saying “sky news will be right back after this short break”).

Now it’s playing NRL 360.

Speedcafe is reporting that this year’s Bathurst 1000 has been postponed due to the current COVID-19 situation in Sydney, while the Supercars races in Auckland and Perth have been cancelled altogether due to border restrictions.

UPDATE 30/7: now confirmed

The Supercars round at Queensland Raceway in Ipswich, which was only announced last month, has been cancelled as well.

MotoGP™ remains with the Foxtel Group in Australia | MotoGP™.

No mention on FTA component as yet

I wouldn’t be surprised if 7 make a play for the next FTA rights, 10 barely even promote the races anymore and other than Melbourne F1 Grand Prix they don’t have any other Motorsport coverage anymore.

This is MotoGP. 10Bold show every race live.

Not anymore it appears. Article states “exclusively live” from 2022

I gathered that. Do we think there will be any FTA component (except maybe Australian races)?

Yup, well aware of that.

I’m saying 10 hardly promote the MotoGP races anymore AND other than the Melb F1 they don’t have any other Motorsport coverage.

So, I wouldn’t be surprised to see 7 make a play for it since they have most other FTA Motorsport.

Whether 7 see any benefit in races that are mostly overnight though, remains to be seen. A highlights package on 7Mate the next morning though could be good. (Obviously the Australian GP live)

The MotoGP article mentions “the free and paid rights” which means there will be some FTA coverage, but whichever network wants it will have to pay Foxtel instead of organising body Dorna Sports.

Most races do pretty well for Bold, appearing in the Top 20 and some demos.

Seeing them in HD if they presumably aired on Mate
if 7 are at all interested would be a bonus too.

Of course it depends on whether Foxtel on sell the rights again as Johnson mentions.

They could of course just show a handful of the ones that don’t rate as Kayo Freebies.

I think Foxtel are trying to promote their Kayo Freebies so unless they need to sell FTA rights to networks I don’t think they will

Depends on the return, on selling to FTA might yield higher than their Kayo Freebies distribution.

Guess we’ll see what happens soon.
