Can you show?
that looks cool!
The original logo is still on fox sports website though
I wouldn’t read much into it
Usually don’t read too much but with Sinclair broadcasting converting the US Fox Sports regionals brand into their own brand in 2020, FOX ONE carrying the US FOX network branding, the promotion of FOX branded channels including FOX SCI FI and now the AFL site showing the US logo which I know wouldn’t be a mistake.
The cuts keep on happening at Fox - this time it’s impacting their rugby union coverage:

According to the SMH:
Two sources told the Herald that executives briefed staff there would be no dedicated mid-week rugby shows and only a skeleton staff, including veteran commentator Greg Clark and former Wallabies Tim Horan, Phil Kearns, George Gregan and Rod Kafer would be retained on contract, to work across the weekend games.
Nick McArdle has spent more than a decade at Fox Sports after leaving Seven. He will be a big loss to the broadcaster.
His Instagram account at work (nickmcardlefox) has disappeared as well.
Sacking commentators on the eve of rugby union season launch won’t leave a good impression on Rugby Australia CEO Raelene Castle.
…and with Seven going through major cutbacks of their own, I can’t see Nick going back there anytime soon.
Even to bolster their Olympic staff. I reckon Nick has a chance to pick up the Rugby Sevens commentary gig.
In that SMH article she says how great Fox Sports is.
She wants their money for the next broadcast deal…
Hahaha, bit late to suck up
The SMH article I linked to has been updated with info which suggests there’ll be widespread cuts across Fox Sports:
…a top RA source told the Herald that Fox executives reassured officials that cuts were imminent across all departments, including the broadcaster’s “big three”, rugby league, AFL and cricket.
I couldn’t believe with cuts being made. This is going to get bleak for Fox. I feel that some NRL commentators will face the axe from Fox. Some Fox Footy commentators will be at risk of getting the axe.
I feel it’s great for the demise of fox that means we could be getting more sports exclusively on free to air. All the main rights deals are pathetic except for tennis.
As far as Fox League is concerned, it wouldn’t overly surprise me if The Matty Johns Show was to get the chop as part of these widespread cuts.
Really…if a mainstream commercial FTA big gun like Nine gave up on The NRL Footy Show after it fell below 200-300k in two metro markets, then I can’t imagine a Pay TV service continuing to run a show which likely averages around 60-80k viewers nationally!
The demise of Fox Sports would be an absolutely fantastic thing for the free to air networks.
But most sports coverage on FTA networks is panned by viewers. Certainly there’s not too much positive commentary around for AFL on Seven, NRL on Nine, etc!
Amazon, Optus, DAZN and others are waiting in the wings. Any death of Foxtel is not going to see content automatically refer to FTA.
True but they will have more of a chance than a fox monopoly. And anything that pulls apart news Corp is a good thing for competitiveness.
