Fox Sports

Wonder if they just have a little pop up in the corner with ads? However that would not be ad free would it. Find out soon.

@markyinau @FOXNRL My understanding is 8 mins of ads across Fox broadcasts that run longer than Nine…pre and post match. Fair compromise.

Best thing is you don’t have to watch nine until the grand final.

And of course origin. So 4 games on nine the rest on fox.

What about international test matches featuring Australia? Aren’t some those also on the anti-siphoning list and therefore games you’ll have to watch on Nine?

Meanwhile

Absolutely outrageous if this really happens

Interesting development.

It would rate quite well I would think and generate good revenue.

Surely the idiots at ten could see this as a chance to show international cricket. Bizarre stuff really.

I think the idiots are actually Star Sports who is asking for exorbitant prices for the sub-rights to broadcast next month’s tournament (Star Sports holds the global broadcast rights). Had the ICC sold individual broadcast rights like other sporting organisations things would have been different.
Australia will host the ICC World Twenty20 in 2020. Imagine the uproar if no local broadcaster is able to show it.

I think you’ll find this is another instance of india’s Star Sports holding other broadcasters to ransom as they own all the international rights to these events and want exorbitant sums of money for them. It’s happened before. And why ABC didn’t do the last tour of India.

This is a diffeernt manner to most, but most rights are usually sold by an intermediary like IMG etc.

The only state will have a chance in watching it is WA. Its not worth it at all. As only 2 are decent the rest fall late at night featuring Australia

Wtf are you,on about. Can you please stop jumping to the defence of ten. It’s agonisingly annoying.

Have you seen the start times for the matches via cricket australia website. They start ridiculously late in the night for eastern state viewers on matches bar 2. :rage:

The Star Sports exorbitant price argument would be valid if it wasn’t just restricted to Australia and New Zealand. Every other country featuring in the tournament will have coverage for their fans back home.

Here’s a list of broadcasters for the recent qualifier tournament and i guess it will probably be the same broadcasters doing the main tournament.

Not too expensive for them

I don’t care. There’s no excuse to not go after an event.

Star sports holding networks to ransom is more the issue here rather than your continual jizz fest for ten.

Sky Sport NZ is promoting coverage in its March magazine out today, so that original article appears to have that incorrect.
