Ice on Fire

Exclusive documentary film Produced and Narrated by Leonardo DiCaprio

Saturday 27 July at 8.30pm AEST

Produced and narrated by Oscar-winning actor Leonardo DiCaprio, Ice on Fire is an eye-opening documentary that focuses on many never-before-seen solutions designed to slow down our escalating environmental crisis, and streams on Foxtel Now and screens on FOX SHOWCASE on Saturday, July 27 at 8.30pm AEST.

Ice on Fire focuses on the cutting-edge research behind today’s climate science – and the innovations aimed at reducing carbon in the atmosphere, which could pave the way for a reduction in the global temperature rise and a benefit to the planet’s life systems.

With sweeping cinematography of a world worth saving, Ice on Fire was filmed across the globe, from Norway to Alaska, Iceland to Colorado, Switzerland to Costa Rica to Connecticut. The film highlights first-hand accounts of people at the forefront of the climate crisis, with insights from scientists, farmers, innovators and others.

Ice on Fire emphasizes the importance of an immediate, two-pronged approach to reversing the crisis: reducing carbon emissions through traditional renewable energy sources and new ones, and implementing “drawdown” measures, focusing on methods for drawing down and sequestering carbon.

The film visits places such as: the Usal Redwood Forest Foundation in northern California, highlighting a carbon-storage project that focuses on reforestation; Climeworks’ direct air capture machine in Zurich; and Thimble Island Ocean Farm off the coast of Connecticut, where shellfish and seaweed are grown to soak up more carbon than land-based plants and can be used for food, animal feed and fertilizer.

The HBO documentary film Ice on Fire is produced by Leonardo DiCaprio, George DiCaprio and Mathew Schmid; directed by Leila Conners; narrated by Leonardo DiCaprio; producers, Leonardo DiCaprio, Mathew Schmid and Leila Conners; executive producers, George DiCaprio, Roee Sharon Peled; cinematography by Harun Mehmedinovic. For HBO: executive producers, Nancy Abraham and Lisa Heller.

Ice on Fire will feature on Foxtel’s Saturday night documentary slot, where award-winning HBO documentaries and films air each week at 8.30pm AEST, streaming on Foxtel Now and screening on FOX SHOWCASE.

Mr Inbetween - Season 2

Starts Friday September 13

Express from the US at 2pm and encored at 8pm Fridays

Special encore screening Sundays at 8.30pm AEST on FOX SHOWCASE

Mr Inbetween, the critically acclaimed Australian half hour comedy series created by and starring Scott Ryan as the criminal-for-hire “Ray Shoesmith” returns for its second season. Mr Inbetween premieres Friday, September 13, Express from the US at 2pm and encored at 8pm with a special primetime encore screening Sundays at 8.30pm on FOX SHOWCASE, the home of FX Originals and available to stream On Demand.

Ryan reprises the role as charismatic, yet volatile hit man “Ray Shoesmith”, a role which earned him a TV WEEK Logie Award for ‘Most Outstanding Actor’, and he again serves as the series writer, with Nash Edgerton directing the series.

“The response to season one was super positive both here and in the US, with everyone wanting more. We are very excited to share more episodes, allowing us to explore Ray’s character further and delve deeper into Ray’s adventures in crime, dating and parenting,” Edgerton said.

Juggling a relationship, parental responsibilities, friendships and a sick brother while earning a living would be difficult for anyone, but it’s particularly difficult when you’re a criminal for hire.

Ray Shoesmith “takes care of people” — collecting debts, relieving them of drugs and guns, and often taking care of them on a more permanent basis. Ray demands respect and does not tolerate it when someone disregards his very clear code of ethics. In season two of Mr Inbetween, Ray’s work and personal life begin to collide and he finds himself struggling to keep both sides of his life from imploding.

The ten-part season stars Ryan along with Brooke Satchwell as girlfriend Ally, Justin Rosniak as best friend Gary, Chika Yasumura as daughter Brittany, Nicholas Cassim as brother Bruce, Damon Herriman as boss Freddy, David Michôd as Peter the anger management counsellor and Matt Nable as Dave.

New cast includes Ben Oxenbould as Dirk, Josh McConville as Alex, Rebecca Montalti as Mandy and Rose Riley as Michele.

Foxtel’s Executive Director of Television Brian Walsh said: “The first season of Mr Inbetween was a hit with viewers and a critical success and we can’t wait to see what the brilliant creative team have in store for the new season. We are proud to bring these unique stories to Australian audiences and Mr Inbetween joins a huge line-up of Australian drama on Foxtel including Wentworth, Secret City , Lambs of God and two upcoming series Upright and The End .

“At Foxtel our continued strategy is to find and commission local stories that are designed for our dedicated Australian viewers. International success, such as what Mr Inbetween has achieved is a welcome bonus”.

The series was recently shot in Sydney and is produced by FX in association with Blue-Tongue Films, Jungle Entertainment and Pariah Productions. Edgerton, Ryan and Jason Burrows are Executive Producers and Michele Bennett is producer.

Mr Inbetween screens Express from the US, Fridays at 2pm and encored at 8pm from September 13 with special primetime encore screenings Sundays at 8.30pm on FOX SHOWCASE and every episode is available to stream On Demand.
