Crowd looks great now!
This happens nearly every day on the US sports networks - we lose our shit at it, but for the Yanks its normal
Probably a good thing the basketball wasnât bumped completely for the NRL. Would have left a bad first impression on a lot of potential viewers.
This way the basketball might actually be a good lead in for the remainder of the game when they do switch over.
Does the news get delayed too!! ![]()
It can (and has)
Yep. Although Pistol Pete made a big song and dance about it being on FS1.
Its back on FS1 now - the basketball has finished
Steve Crawley also commented on whether commentators should be at the ground for all NRL matches.
All businesses need to be financially responsible. It is difficult though. The first reaction of course is that it canât be as good if you are not there. But we do have people there. For football, there is always a boundary rider or the sideline person and producers.
When we have matches on in Sydney and Melbourne I prefer we get out to the ground. We also prefer to get to the ground in other capitals too. If there is a game in Townsville or Perth then it can cost us a lot of money.
We are now building a team in Perth so we donât have to send commentators there for AFL. For Rugby League we are also doing that for Townsville.
I wonder what commentators they plan on having in Townsville?
I know they have Brent Tate already.
I think having QLD based commentators would probably make more sense.
Agree, particularly when they will only be able to commentate every second weekend.
I imagine they will have other roles (on or off air) in between games too. And maybe even become a shared role with other Townsville media outlets.
Ratings from United States cable network Fox Sports 1 showed an average audience of 61,000 tuned in to watch the season opener between the Sea Eagles and Rabbitohs, with a reduction to 44,000 for the Roosters-Broncos clash at Allegiant Stadium, according to US SportsMedia website.
Niko Pajarillo has gotten 2 sideline gigs this week, has he replaced anyone or just gotten promoted on a more regular basis.
Presume Matt Russell tied up with NBL still?
Donât think weâll be seeing Paul Kent again.
Shock and horror ![]()
Good riddance. How he got off on the other charges weâll never know.
Vision for those who want to see it: (not graphic just some guys falling over)
High bar for a criminal conviction, as there should be.
Interesting - Kent gets mouthy (havent we all after a few frosty ones) and then gets his arse handed to him. How many weeks do you get for âall talk no actionâ?
Not great behavour, but if News kept him on last time I can see them doing the same here
That would be Kentyâs motto by now.
