Are commentators live at the venues for the JLT? Just haven’t seen any studio shots. Obviously being in country towns there is no studios but just wondered if they were at the ground or whether its done back in Melbourne?

Definitely done in Melbourne with only the boundary rider live at the venue.

The commentators were at Geelong’s GMHBA Stadium on Thursday night for Geelong v Essendon.

According to the Herald Sun, the comedy show will be called Up the Guts and set in Mooney’s lounge room. I can’t see it listed on Foxtel online TV guide yet, but I reckon the comedy show will be shown as part of post-match of Collingwood v Geelong next week.

Looking forward to this. Sounds like an attempt by Fox at an AFL version of what James Rochford does for the NRL with The Professor’s Late Hit, Second Year Syndrome, The Professor’s Farewell Tour, etc.

While watching Seven’s post-match coverage tonight, I spotted Kelli Underwood and Dermott Brereton in Richmond changerooms at the MCG, doing post-match for Fox Footy, just as Tigers players walked in to sing the team song after they beat Carlton.

Yes Kelli and Dermott were on the ground and in the rooms.

The rest of the Fox Footy hosts were on the stage between the Ponsford and Great Southern Stand. Good to see Fox Footy actually at the ground for the Seven produced games at least even if they still have to take the Seven commentary.

Not sure if this will end up being a regular thing, perhaps for this game and other big event matches where 7 is host telecaster there may be space at the ground for the Fox team.

Looks like Fox have reverted to the original 2017 theme music for this year.

David King revealed on SEN today that an idiotic fan poured “one or two beers” on the Fox Footy set at the MCG (between Great Southern and Ponsford stands) shortly after the final siren of last night’s Collingwood v Geelong game, causing some panic among the crew and the panel. Fox Footy officials made a complaint to the AFL this morning.

Someone mooned them on Thursday night after the match and kept acting like an idiot behind them. It looked like Fox tried to take some tighter shots of their panellists but it didn’t really help.

Fox Footy and Seven seem to co-operate better than Fox League and Nine (eg; Seven allowing Fox to do things like have their hosts/analysts in the changerooms)

The same production crews for both networks probably worked together with the cricket this summer too. In the end though it’s a lot of the same pool of staff that work for NEP doing both networks anyway I assume.

To be fair, Fox League is only a relatively new channel/brand.

You’d think after 5 (?) years in the early-mid 2000s and now in its 8th year of the resurrected period that Fox Footy and Seven would have some sort of relationship?

Edit

10 not Seven had rights in the first period, I did forget.
