Fox Footy

Thought it was too good to be true, was never going to last having two sets of teams on the clock.

Odd call to have a full studio team, plus the full Perth team, then probably complain about costs…

Are the super accents usually gold on TNF? Kath and Will cross had their descriptions in the Saturday gold.

Also noticed pretty regular use of the commentator super during the game. Is that normal (trying to build the profiles of the personalities) or just because it’s the Perth team calling?

The commentator supers appearing almost every time one of them opens their mouth has been standard for a while now. I assume it’s about building profile for the commentary teams.

It’s overkill imo, but I have a relative who has trouble telling the voices apart, so they find it really helpful to work out who is talking.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but is this week the first time Fox has used the ‘100 years’ logo for the Bulldogs instead of the modern one?

Fox not at the MCG today? That’s pretty bad for a game in Melbourne

I havent been paying close attention (the Swans’ playing like shit has driven me to drink and do other things) but that explains why the commentary has been lacklustre and highly reliant on Nick Dal Santo (who’s on the boundary) to feed information back

Fox’s calling off the tube has been really, really noticeable lately, especially on the NM vs Brisbane game in Tassie a few weeks ago. As mentioned above, when they’re going to the boundary rider more regularly, that’s a giveaway but the delayed calls/responses to the gameplay is hard not to notice, especially when a player has kicked a behind and the commentary team are celebrating goals.

Who cares where the commentary team are when Dermie is part of it! Result was all that mattered… Go Dees!

Fox may not have called from the 'G today, but at least they bothered to do a post-game interview.

Late finish must have “killed” 7, more interested in their news than football. So thanks Fox Footy for your interview with Petracca and the song in the room!

Fox had Dwayne and Kelli called the Adelaide vs West Coast game also from Melbourne only Mark and Shaun in the Com Box at Adelaide Oval.

It was obvious when they went on about how windy it was at Adelaide Oval. I was there it was a gentle breeze not windy at all.

West Coast and Adelaide fans enduring not only ‘Orange and Green team’ but also ‘The West Coast’ in one broadcast

As Dusty and the Pet Shop Boys sung ‘what have I done to deserve this?!’

BT has mentioned with before with Fox not being at the ground. I think it’s BT being petty but also Fox started it by having BT lookalike in their promo being locked out. So I think BT calling them out is kinda valid

Interesting hearing Eddie, Hutchy and Damo discussing this issue today on their various media outlets. They suggested that DAZN are pulling the strings here and have a reputation globally for not investing around the product once they’ve acquired expensive rights.

How would not broadcasting from the ground save DAZN money when the game is at the MCG, 2km from the Fox Footy studio?

Apparently even MMM mentioned the empty Fox box during the match broadcast

7 actually posted a commentary box view of the moment to socials

I have a feeling that Fox will be at the ground for majority of matches this weekend even if only 1 match is in Melbourne.
