Then put the name.

That’s a tame effort at clickbating too - I’m surprised it’s not something like “Australian cricketers SHOCK move”

It’s in the story. Most people only want the name of who has retired, so they click through and that’s another click for the tally. News.com.au is particularly bad for that shit.

2022 Indoor Cricket World Cup to be shown live on Kayo Sports

The 2022 Indoor Cricket World Cup will be broadcast across Australia with 43 games to be streamed live on Kayo Sports.

Eight nations will compete in the World Indoor Cricket Federation tournament to be held at Casey Stadium, Melbourne, on October 8-15.

Men’s and Women’s senior and U22 teams from Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, England, India, Sri Lanka, UAE and Singapore will compete for the respective trophies.

Australia is hoping to continue its Indoor Cricket World Cup dominance with all four teams defending the titles they won in Dubai in 2017.

Nicole Martin and Lyle Teske will captain the Australian Women’s and Men’s senior teams while Katrina Dixon and Jonathan D’Rozario will lead the U22 Women’s and Men’s teams.

The opening day of the tournament will feature a Trans-Tasman triple-header between the Australian and New Zealand Women, U22 Women and Men’s teams.

The 2022 World Cup marks the return of international indoor cricket after the 2020 World Cup was postponed due to COVID-19 travel restrictions.

The tournament is hosted by Cricket Australia with the support of the Victorian Government as well as the venue host, the City of Casey.

Victorian Minister for Tourism, Sport and Major Events Steve Dimopoulos said:

“We’re proud to be supporting the 2022 Indoor World Cup which will be streamed live from Casey Stadium, showcasing Victoria as the nation’s sporting capital to audiences across the nation."
“More sporting events means a win for sport fans and for local jobs – drawing visitors and delivering more benefits to businesses across accommodation, hospitality, tourism and retail."

City of Casey Chair of Administrators Noelene Duff PSM said:

“Following the success of the Indoor Cricket National Championships at Casey Stadium in June and July 2022 and the Indoor Cricket Australian Masters Championship in August, the City of Casey is honoured to be hosting the prestigious Indoor Cricket World Cup in October,” Ms Duff said.
“The eight-day event is a wonderful opportunity to reconnect the indoor cricket community from across the world. We look forward to welcoming the competing countries to our state-of-the-art indoor cricket facility at Casey Stadium.
“I encourage all sports lovers, in particular the cricketing community, to come along and watch some world-class indoor cricket.”

Australian Men’s indoor cricket coach, Brenton Brien, said:

“We are so excited to be back playing at international level, especially a World Cup at home in Australia. The broadcast partnership with Kayo adds to this excitement and I am thankful to Kayo for helping us bring our great game to a broader audience.
“We have played the past two national tournaments at Casey Stadium which is a first-class facility for players and spectators. We would like to thank the Victorian Government and the City of Casey for their support of Indoor Cricket and for hosting the World Cup.”

I’m surprised they’re making it more about the Fox Cricket personalities over the international cricketing stars, but cool advert anyway.

As part of the ICC world feed probably.

According to Foxtel online guide, Fox Cricket+ will launch on Channel 503 this Thursday (October 13), the same day the new WBBL season starts. When the ICC T20 World Cup starts this Sunday with Namibia v Sri Lanka, the World Cup will mainly be on Fox Cricket (Channel 501), while WBBL matches will be shown live on Fox Cricket+.

Any chance of getting some energy in the com box for T/20 cricket. This is mono tone commentary.

Good shots, nothing. Wickets, nothing.

Add some colour to the coverage, the same tone for everything is so bloody boring.

I really don’t rate the Black graphics, the Blue/White combo of the last few years was far nicer on the eye.

The commentary team, give them the benefit of the doubt. They haven’t worked with each other for a few months and need to find some rhythm, I didn’t watch tonight but I watched last week’s coverage and the absence of Warnie and/or Roy in the box for such a boring series of T20’s that literally no one cares for could be the game changer for chemistry in the commentary box.

FOXTEL launches ‘Don’t Miss a Thing’ ad campaign ahead of highly anticipated ICC Men’s T20 World Cup

Untitled

FOXTEL has launched its star-studded ‘Don’t Miss A Thing’ ad campaign to celebrate its longest summer of cricket.

Created by in-house creative agency Fox Creative, the campaign is an inspirational and memorable take on the upcoming summer of cricket as both Men’s and Women’s Australian teams both fight to defend the T20 World Cup across another blockbuster season.

The fresh take on Fox Cricket’s summer of cricket campaign sees the biggest names in the game sent on a mission to space to defend the T20 World Cup. This follows last year’s Fox Cricket broadcast, which was Foxtel’s most successful ever, with viewership growing 10% YOY.

Nodding to the unrivalled quality and breadth of broadcast coverage, iconic Aerosmith song ‘I Don’t Want To Miss A Thing’ is the soundtrack behind the campaign, and features many of Australia’s most loved cricket stars including Pat Cummins, Mitchell Starc, Josh Hazelwood, Ellyse Perry, Alyssa Healey, alongside Fox Cricket talent including Adam Gilchrist, Isa Guha, Brett Lee, Mark Howard, Kerry O’Keeffe, Mark Waugh and Kath Loughnan.

The campaign will be rolled out across 30 and 15 second TVC placements alongside OOH, digital banners, radio, print and social assets.

Michael Nearhos, Executive Director of Marketing, FOXTEL said: “We’re thrilled to be delivering yet another bumper summer of unmissable cricket. We’re confident this joyful ad-campaign will excite and engage audiences as we launch into the longest summer of cricket yet kicking off with the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, with our Fox Cricket talent, some of the greatest names in the game.”

Aussies won’t miss a thing, with a slate of unmissable action this summer across the ICC Men’s and Women’s T20 World Cup, Australian Men’s and Women’s ODI’s played on home soil, WBBL and BBL, with every game live and ad-break free during play only on Fox Cricket. Fox Cricket’s summer of cricket will deliver the best commentary and analysis and exclusive camera angles, including every Aussie Men’s ODI in 4K Ultra-HD only on Foxtel.

I wonder why Foxtel used the movie Armageddon as the inspiration for its latest campaign though?

The commentary and overall presenation made it feel like it was a BBL game. Don’t know if it’s because there’s been so much franchise T20 cricket played in recent years but the quality of the broadcast for white ball international cricket has really declined since 9 had the rights.
