Footy Furnace

He could join Fox & still do the Sunday footy show for 9. If u look at Jess Webster who does the AFLW segments for the Sunday footy show, she commentates AFLW on Fox. So it could be possible.

God I hope not. We don’t need this homophobe hosting anymore shows.

Definitely, but Lloyd is top talent and I wouldn’t be surprised if Fox want him exclusively depending on the money involved in the contract. I could see Lloyd appearing on programs such as On The Couch and AFL 360 in addition to commentating.

He’s also just not good talent.

Enjoyed him on Nine News Friday night telling us multiple times that he was estimating 1,000 people would turn up to the MCG for the Grand Final…

I really don’t know why 9 picked him up, well considering recent events, I know exactly why they did, code of conduct means nothing at the place.

I was actually watching bits of this show, and it’s just utter scripted hearsay. Absolute trash. Then you have the host, who comes across like an Ambulance chaser.

Tom would be better suited to Sky News.

Except for the fact that Fox Sports News is also owned by NewsCorp, who sacked him.

These people always find a way to slither back into a job even if it’s a subsidiary. I’ve worked with too many of the types over the years.

Update for tonight for Melbourne, Adelaide, Perth - following 60 Minutes

If they couldn’t convince him to be in the studio for all episodes that’s probably for the best - I tried to watch a clip of something from the show (this one) and what I assume is the background noise of the slightly delayed feed that Leigh was listening to comes through, and made it impossible to keep going.

You can kinda tune it out for a guest, but especially with it being a ā€˜panel’ show, so you couldn’t really just mute Leigh’s mic until it was his time to talk.

Seven and Foxtel must surely be going after him again then, more likely on a casual/guest basis, given his age and location

edit

Looks like 9Now has had some problem tonight, Footy Furnace didn’t live stream as advertised after 8pm est.

Tom Morris mentioned that Kane Cornes and Damian Barrett will join him and Jimmy for Footy Furnace’s Trade Editions on October 6, 13 and 16.

So turns out today was actually not Kane’s last day on-air at Nine.

Leigh had a phone chat with Sam McClure on the latter’s final show on 3AW’s Wide World of Sports tonight. Leigh said that having to fly from Brisbane to Melbourne every Sunday to be on Footy Furnace didn’t suit his lifestyle, that’s why he quit the program and joined Fox Footy.

Didn’t he join remotely like every week?

IIRC he was in the studio earlier in the season, but later he started to call in from Brisbane.
