So yeah, it’s only some City fans who are banned from their own home games? Pathetic.

One member has been banned for life, and the whole Active Area has been given a two match suspension because of the excessive use of flares.

The banning of active fans was a club driven initiative.

… Glover has been cleared and is free to play in City’s game against Central Coast Mariners on Tuesday.

“Since the independent MRP was satisfied that the incident had not escaped the referee’s attention, the MRP did not proceed to consider whether Glover should have been sanctioned with a direct red card,” Football Australia said.

“Accordingly, the MRP has not cited the incident pursuant to the regulations.”

Glover has also been cleared of his concussion by club doctors.

Finished.

Brazil remained on top of the rankings, followed by 2022 World Cup winner Argentina and runner-up France.
Australia finished the year ranked 27th, after reaching the round of 16 at the 2022 World Cup.

Football Australia has begun implementing a second division to the A-League, which could begin in March 2024.

A national second division might help grow the sport. Outside of state-based second divisions, we’ve only got the A-League.

But having no relegation of A-League teams or promotion of the reserve grade kind of sucks. But do hope it does come into our competition soon.

It will come eventually.

I’m sure it would be promotion/relegation with some rules and exceptions that would make it near impossible to actually happen, and have huge parachute payments to any dropped A-League team that it wouldn’t last for long.

Problem would be if they tried to make financial requirements for a promoted team, lots of current A-League teams probably fail to meet those.

Promotion and Relegation is something that FIFA wants too (although they’ve been happy to award Australia and the US exemptions previously), their rules say that competitors in the top-flight competition should be determined by sporting merit.

I’m not convinced it will work here though
