As he should be.

This is similar to AFL clubs Geelong, Western Bulldogs and North Melbourne, all of which had dropped gambling sponsorships (and sold off all the pokies they previously owned) in the past few years.

So lucky I chose not to drive up to watch the annihilation tonight. Pathetic performance by the Jets. Makes the Waratahs and NSW cricket look like superstars at the moment.

Why does Melbourne Victory still exist at this point?

For once, someone else is having a shittier season than the Jets. And for it to be the Victory, it’s bloody magnificent. It’d be even better if it were $ydney FC.

As a very at-arms-length Victory supporter, they might as well let South Melbourne take over the franchise at this stage.

That’d be worse. Victory are run very well, except on the park it seems. Leave them were they belong…in the VPL.

It would undoubtedly be worse for the game, can’t disagree with you.

But consider how much more fun it would be

The game doesn’t need South Melbourne. They may as well bring back the NSL at that point.

The interested parties include existing rights holder Fox Sports, and Stan Sport.

Sportsflick? The North West’s finest streaming company since someone filmed themselves doing burnouts in Schofields.

Since there isn’t a dedicated W-League thread…

Was the goal untouched (other than by the GK) from the corner?

Right, as a Man U fan and a Jets fan, I’m going to crack the shits here.

Why have the Glazers aimed for the Mariners, if only to move them? Newcastle would be much, much BETTER fit. We have the BETTER fans, we’re in a recognised footballing nursery, you wouldn’t have to move us, and you can do more with the Jets.

Sydney doesn’t need a fourth A-League team. If the deal is approved, it’s done only on the proviso it’s moved to Canberra or Tasmania.

I agree. All good taking over BUT DON’T MOVE THE TEAM!

Considering the APL is effectively owned by the clubs, all 3 Sydney clubs would be mad to allow another team into the market that isn’t already in the NPL.

They should be guiding Man U to buy the Jets, lest they don’t want to be found out that at least two of them are using the Jets as a feeder club and acting in a cartel style manner. Newcastle and the Hunter, in fact, all of Northern NSW is a hell of a development market for them and too good to ignore.

The team will, from August, be known as the Commonwealth Bank (will likely be shortened to Commbank) Matildas.
