Interesting that they’ve been allowed to use it for a non-WC match. Also dissapointing that a host nation is hosting from a studio…
2026 FIFA World Cup International Broadcast Center (IBC) is located at the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center in downtown Dallas, Texas
The Delhi High Court has granted an ex-parte interim injunction protecting Zee Entertainment Enterprises’ exclusive broadcasting rights for the FIFA World Cup 2026. The Court ordered internet service providers (ISPs) to block access to the rogue websites identified by Zee that were advertising unauthorized, illegal streams of the tournament
From Monday, Sky Sports News transformed to a rolling World Cup news station. There will be three programs subtitled “Breakfast”, “Matchday” and “Report”, all of which share the same key art as seen below.
The channel is normally live across the day and pre-recorded overnight. Let’s see how they handle a tournament that only has games overnight, while conveniently forgetting they also have a World Cup that might have some interest.
Today, Dolby Laboratories and NBCUniversal announced that Peacock will stream Telemundo’s live FIFA World Cup 2026™ Spanish-language coverage in Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos with Dolby AC-4. This marks a streaming first that changes what it means to watch the world’s most popular sporting event. All 104 matches will be delivered with vivid detail and electrifying sound that make every moment feel like fans are right there on the pitch.
This also marks the first commercial deployment of Dolby AC-4 by a video streamer. Dolby AC-4 delivers crystal-clear sound with up to 50% greater efficiency than traditional codecs, enabling the ability to deliver Dolby Atmos at the highest possible fidelity.
Excerpts from a couple of TV guides in UK for the first 2 days of coverage.

Lot of concern about politicising of event
“will be the first time a major event has taken place when two of the participating nations are at war with each other”
Thanks to the the Eutelsat 5 West B satellite, viewers across mainland France will be able to watch the event in UHD without reception or bandwidth constraints. From June 11th to July 19th, viewers equipped with compatible Fransat UHD satellite equipment will be able to watch the matches broadcast in UHD on the M6 4K channel, available on channel 56 of the Fransat platform.
It’s a friendly halfway across the continent. Seems like a waste of money to me.
Meanwhile, it’s 1080p at best on SBS On Demand, or 1080i on SBS-HD…
And restricted to 25fps on SBS on demand.
This shows how far Australia is off many countries when they can watch matches in 4K and/or with Dolby Vision.
I should note in France, beIN will not provide a 4K option. And they are the home of all the matches, exclusive and not.

Latest update: Where to watch it in 4K/UHD with Dolby Vision/HDR 📺 and Dolby Audio 5.1 or Atmos 🔊 on cable, lPTV, OTT streaming, OTA broadcast (DTT) or DTH satellite 📡

Spain and Italy leading the world with 4K DTT. Brazil too, just in time…
That account listed Stan and Optus Sport as the rightsholders for Australia. Grain of salt.
Admittedly some mistakes, but the table originally was showing soccer coverage including UEFA that was on Stan. It has now been cut down just the World Cup and Australia was cut out of the table due to lack of any UHD transmissions. A shame that SBS can’t come up with a streaming solution for some games in 4K.
