I don’t know if this belongs in this thread but it looks like The Onion has restarted its ‘bulletins’ on YouTube

I’m so glad that they have decided to revive these! The older ones have been doing the rounds online lately!

I still regularly watch some of their old stuff with the old ONN and bulletins.

Morning TV on TGYH

Surely they’ve exhausted the morning/brekky/talk show TV format on TGYH?

Nope. The scenarios on that show are so overused. Great guests this season and definitely a lot of new names but the scenarios are letting them down.

Seems apt for me to post these on Taiwan’s National Day: From the Island Nation franchise (the free-to-watch single episodes on YT; full series is behind a paywall on their website), a historical drama series in Taiwan.

The second season re-enacts the island’s first presidential election and missile crisis from the PRC in 1996, which featured the BTV newsroom (a parody of TVBS, Taiwan’s first satellite broadcaster) in the main storyline alongside the political parties. The historical photos were inserted as the news channel’s ‘exclusive’ images.

BTV’s primetime political debate/phone-in show - a parody to TVBS’ synonymous show that ran from 1994 to 2013.

Hoping, their spinoff series, tells the story of a notorious hospital in Taipei that was forcefully sealed off at the peak of the SARS pandemic in 2003. Newer sets on BTV News:

CCTV News from China. The DOG here resembles their old ‘butterfly’ symbol, but by that point they should be using the current double-lined one:
